We spoke with Brendan Kohler, General Manager of Primos in Johnson City.
He shared with us his inspiring journey, one that began while he was in high school.
So for you drugs was more than just drugs, it was the escape.
Yeah, I mean I did, you know, getting in high school, I did sort of like the,
I could drink a lot, you know, and I was always sort of, oh, you know, so and so drink all this,
and sort of getting a little bit attention from that, but at the same time I was doing very well
in sports, so I was always getting a lot of attention with the sports, and you know,
I was sort of the class clown, so I mean, I always sort of got attention.
Give us your location, tell us what makes you curious, and we'll give you original content
that's tailored for you.
I've heard stories of people getting bullied, you know, people get bullied all the time,
you know, whether it's for, you know, they're shorter or they're, you know,
not as athletic as someone else or they're not as, and it's just really, it's just been a great
blessing that I've never been, never been teased.
The subtle soundtrack of Johnson City is authentic, it's raw. Each person I met
had a story, a complex one filled with pages that were wrinkled, bent, and torn,
but this isn't the end. Their stories are still being written right here in Johnson City.
These people aren't searching for home, they've already found it. We've found it. Some place like home.
It's hard.
It's hard.
Coming at you live from Battery Park in New York City, behind me hundreds of people are
gathering to protest President Donald Trump's recent executive order on immigration. A lot of
diversity out here today with toddlers and people of all generations who follow along on Snapchat
and Twitter for the latest. Reporting to you live from New York, I'm Amanda Florian.
Despite yesterday's interruption, students are gathering for day number three,
standing outside the library for once again another day of protesting.
What you're seeing here today is that the beauty of a university.
Live at the Democratic National Convention, outside protesters are already gathering behind me.
This week in Washington DC, nearly 20,000 people gather for a Latino convention
hosted by Lulac. Where I'm standing, Bernie Sanders just rocked up his rally in Washington DC.
Election season is in full swing this year and many college students are preparing to vote
for the first time. Monday morning, the Supreme Court of the United States threw out a Texas
abortion law. Now many said the 2013 law placed too many restrictions on women seeking to get
abortions, but not all were in agreement. Students literally had a ball. Marvellous Monday is one
tradition students say they'll never forget. I'm Amanda Florian for USA Today College.
People from the community of Johnson City were gathering in light of a recent bill
that state representative Bud Holzy is proposing. While some in the Tennessee area say the duo brings
fresh perspective, others say the explicit lyrics reach a volume that's a little too amplified.
