Hey, hey!
Hey, hey!
I'm Liana, and I'm Lindsey, and this is What Actually Goes On in Backstage Bollywood.
For you today, we have many interviews, bloopers, and behind-the-scenes, and many more.
We hope you enjoy WAGO, Backstage Bollywood Edition.
This is W-A-G-O reporting live from the Connick Dean summer camp, and here I am with Sam.
Hey, so Sam, we're going to ask you few questions about the production that's going to go on.
Okay. So, um, do you think people will enjoy this production?
Well, I hope so. It's supposed to be really interesting and, you know, lessons learned.
I feel like it's something that the camp has never seen before, so I really think they're going to enjoy it.
A new cultural experience that a lot of kids haven't really seen before.
Good morning. This is W-A-G-O reporting live from the Connick Dean stage theatre.
So, and I'm here with Sarah, and who thought of this production, Sarah?
Well, I was reading through one of my dance books the other day, and I saw a really big section on Bollywood.
So that would be a really, really good theme.
I spoke it through with my co-councillors, which are Becky and Sam, the theatre and music production.
And we talked it through, and we talked about Bollywood music.
We thought about Bollywood theatre and the Indian culture, where it came from.
And we all sat all the girls down together, and then we started to come through ideas of plays,
and we did an exercise called the bench exercise, which is an improv bench exercise.
That's exactly what it is, and the girls come on, they create a character,
and then another character will come on, and they'll do an improv,
and then one of the characters will leave, and they'll do an improv with another character,
which is actually what the beginning of the play starts with.
So that's how we got the beginning of the play, but we just worked on their characters,
and then they started to have set lines.
But most of the ideas were just improvisation from the actual kids themselves.
Oh, so they thought of it.
Yeah, and then the Bollywood theme comes in, and they decide to fall asleep,
and there's this old myth in the Indian myth, and it's called Rosalina,
and basically it wakes them all up, and they all just start to do this Bollywood dance.
This is W-A-G-O, recording live from Pekina Dunes sandcastles, and here I am with Lauren, Ella, and Caitlin.
You get into dance music and theatre, also known as DMT, like how'd you start?
Well, at home, I do a lot of dance classes. I take about five different dance classes,
and I sign up for dance, but by the end of the week, but when we started to do,
all the dance theater music people gathered together,
and some people didn't want to do a performance, so some people dropped out,
but then we had to work together and be like, we had to form the production,
so I had to take theater and music also, but it's really fun.
Here I am with...
Marissa and Haley.
In the whole production, what are your favorite parts?
What's your favorite part in the whole play that's going to go on?
I have to say, it's a dance.
I like the acting part.
That's cool.
My name is Nicole, and this is Jane.
What do you think about this show? Do you think people are going to like it?
Yeah, it's really exciting.
There are a lot of part.
There are a lot of actions.
There are so many parts where people are in the audience,
like not so many parts, but probably about three parts,
and it's just so exciting.
It's pretty cool.
Well, for me, it's reminded me of your intern Harry Potter.
Probably Annie, because she was in the movie Annie.
I would have to be Emma Roberts in the movie Wild Child.
I would probably say Minnie Mouse.
I'd be Jasmine.
I'd be like Dory for my name.
She's funny.
She's so carefree.
I love it.
I would probably be Kenny from South Park.
I'd be Ella from Ella because it's just a cool place.
I wouldn't go there.
Okay, if I could be anybody, it would be Rachel McCudden.
Not because of the notebook, because of the Time Traveler's wife,
but I'd also like to be her in the book rather,
because of the time traveler's wife.
Oh, I think I've heard of that before.
Oh, we're going to start again.
It's not a play.
Action.
Oh, sorry.
You go on.
Wait, wait, go ahead.
This is WAG.
Oh, no, I was talking to Lindy.
Harry Potter.
Do you know what?
That's the first thing we can do.
I know.
Harry Potter.
No, Harry Potter.
Okay, wait, wait, wait.
You're not going to have to sit there, are you?
Jasmine, be Jasmine.
Oh, Dudley.
I do not want to be Dudley.
Um, so are you in the play?
I'm going to complicate myself.
I want to be in DMZ, really, really bad.
Show all my new skills to mom and dad.
I want to be on the Broadway stage, bowing like a queen,
taking Sarah, Sam and Becky.
Oh, every time I close my eyes, what you see, what you see,
I see my name in shining light.
Oh, yeah, a different show.
Every Friday night, I swear.
But if honey should prepare, because I'm on DMZ, yeah.
Oh, oh, because I'm on DMZ, yeah.
Oh, oh.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
