Brinlington is just an ordinary part of the curse, but this weekend it's music part, music
part festival 2010, it's festivals all about world music and culture, coming together and
having fun. It's raining outside but luckily it's an indoor festival and I'm going to go
around and see your eyes, it is a non-sense. There's lots and lots of stars around the
balcony and downstairs around the hall, so I'm going to eat in every one of them and
tell you a little bit about them. So here behind me we have a crystal star selling
interesting crystals from around the world. Right here we have a cup star, right here
we have interesting artifact stars, got jewelry star here selling all sorts of rings, got
a book star, got a blanket star right there, purse cards, got incense star, got another
jewelry star selling necklaces this time, got a necklace star out of interesting beads,
got a lamp star and more jewelry, got a silk square star, right here we have a star that
selling interesting little bracelets and figurines, got a mousse star and finally talking up we've
got a face painting store, which Mr. Will Cogley is now going to get his face painted.
As well as the main stage inside the hall, there's a second stage inside the theatre
and the hall of the Brillington Spa has been refurbished and whilst the house lights it
up as the acts have just gone off for an hour, you can see it's full glory, it's absolutely
amazing. I'm here with Sue now and she's one of the
festival organisers, so how's the festival going at the moment?
I think it's going really well, we're really pleased with the crowd that we've got in,
we've had some amazing acts and even though the weather doesn't matter to us, at least
it's been dry a lot of the time. And why did you start Music Park Festival?
We started because we moved up from Nottingham which is a very multi-ethnic community and
we moved up to the North East and we were astonished at how little diversity there was
in this area and how little music from other parts of the world there was and we just thought
right we're going to go for it, we're going to bring the world up to the North East.
This festival's not all about music, there's lots of workshops going on here and the one
behind me is an art workshop where you can get caricatures done, there's a big painting
workshop going on and it's a gallery. Now this is a nice quiet area that overlooks
the main stage and it says you can just come sit down, have a coffee and relax.
Music Park isn't an ordinary festival like other festivals, it's an indoor festival so
if you don't like the music on one stage it's not a half mile walk to the next stage which
is just through here less than a two-yard walk.
Music Park 2010 has been an absolutely amazing experience, I think it's really good that
the people are gathering all the cultures here in Bridlington.
