Well, my dad, my wife, and my sister helps a lot and then there's three three of us
boys that that help put it on but organizing probably actually there's
four boys you know four boys four boys yeah but actually my wife probably does
a majority of getting the organizing I'm the PR person she's she's the one that
organizes things yes we do the manual labor and she does the PR pop I wouldn't
be any good at doing the PR work so I think I can run machinery and work on
stuff but I would be good the ruby floats are my idea we've done that for a few
years we don't advertise those but we have them she got my dad to go to a
radio station this week for an interview on air about this my sister who lives in
Denver come back here but she could not believe that anyone can get dad to go to
a radio station and do an interview with a on-air radio announcer but he did
this past week and she took him and was on air my job here the day of the event
I'm the water boy and I also have the Polaris Ranger which that's Clifford's
wheels to to move him from the machinery to his shop if he needs something
every time I see him walking a distance I run up and get him it saves his legs
saves his energy so he can run these machines so that's my job and I have the
guest book for people to sign because once it's all over Clifford really
enjoys looking at the names and seeing where people are from he's amazed where
they come from and that just really thrills him
this was one of our bigger crowds last year we had a plow day and antique
tractor crews the same day so that was a big day but this is one of our bigger
crowds and we had people here from Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas and I saw a
Missouri tag out there on the road I don't think so I think it'll be more
corporate farms than old-fashioned we wouldn't farm this way if we had to we
do it just for fun I think the farm is so large nowadays to make a living that
it'll be it's and it's getting out of way already it'll be larger farms not
smaller one corporations I mean they'll have people doing running their
machinery and they'll be managing it behind the computer I think the days of
you know the farmer doing everything from the labor to the management are
probably getting harder and harder to come by I have to tell you one thing
Clifford said the other day when we were at the radio station he said you can see
any of this machinery about any day of the week in a museum but it's not that
often you can see it at work you know you can come to his farm once a year and
see the machinery and operation and all year long people drive by on the road
watch him farming with his anti-machine minutes like a living history farm
well dad's gonna be 89 this winter you know he every year he says last year and
you know we're fortunate he's able to go ahead again this year but has really
slowed down but yeah you'll be 89 this coming winter so we go one year at a
time you know he'd love to throw another 50 years
you
