What do you want to do in the future?
Kali, you're not 24 years old.
Yeah.
Six years, food for parties and everything.
You got a co-market sponsor for two years now.
Like, is there anything in snowboarding
which you'd love to do badly?
Like, in the future, like, I don't know,
taking a seat in the north,
filming a webisode for your own or anything?
I mean, I just want to snowboard and do, like, do whatever,
like, do the riding that I want to do
and as long as I can keep on riding the way I want to ride
and it's all fine for me, there's not really any dream project.
I mean, in the future I would love to keep on working with snowboards
and kind of thinking about doing an event for the future,
for instance, but that's...
I was going to do it this year, but it all came up, like,
it's a lot of things to think about
and kind of want to make it big, so have a few small plans
to build it up and then in the end make a bigger event
when my career is kind of going down.
Alright, you still got some time there for that.
Yeah, hopefully, I got some time there.
Want to drop any name for that contest?
No.
Okay, fair enough.
We've been having this year the first word snowboarding championships,
like, after all that harm and issues,
like with the IOC and the FISC,
like, this was a really great event,
it was totally successful and everything.
Did you follow them?
I watched the finals, actually.
Okay.
And it looked really uncomfortable with all the ice,
but it's definitely a good contest, I think.
I know Drew Stevenson has a lot to do behind it.
I mean, he's the founder of TTR and he's the man that did everything great
and now he's doing the wangle-tangle that I'm going to next weekend
and I'm super stoked on that.
You need good people behind the events, you don't need any...
You need people to know about snowboarding.
Yeah.
They need to be able to create an event
and know how the event should be run.
There's a lot of people that can create an event,
but they're not clear about snowboarding,
so in the end it's just a big budget event
with nothing cool about it.
Cool.
Come back to your person.
I don't know if you're aware of that here,
but we dusted off by the way for everyone who didn't know yet.
You got around the snowboarding scene,
which is on here like a pretty cool fan base.
Did you know or you know why is that?
I didn't really know about that.
I don't know.
Nils told me yesterday about it,
but I actually have no clue about that,
but that's the case that I'm really stoked about that.
I've been told that you've got a pretty strong foot on the gas.
Like, you've been almost having a car chasing
or getting caught by a speed cam in Slovenia on the highway.
What was that?
No, that was just a bullshit joke
from all the guys on Artec.
I was all nervous.
I was super stressed and I went through a toll booth
and I was on the phone
and then they started lying about in Slovenia
you can't be on the phone crossing them
and you're not supposed to pay
and they told me you have to pay
and then I freaked out
and they're claiming that the police is already behind us.
Oh, really?
I was kind of bummed.
They're like, oh, it's like a thousand euro ticket
if you get caught now.
But then the car they claimed was the police
was actually a German-played car,
so for sure it's not the Slovenian police.
But I didn't even see that.
So I kind of stressed out about that.
All right.
Just a few bullet questions.
Solid banger session with Dan Brees
or nice back country power-ride with Kigirov?
Kigirov back country.
All right.
If it's for enjoying myself,
then back country definitely.
Just losing a bit of power.
All right.
Favorite video part?
All time.
All time?
My favorite video part of all time?
Yeah.
I don't know.
When I was a kid I loved watching Chad Otterström
who was killing it
and nowadays I always enjoy watching Halder.
I mean he's an amazing little kid from Iceland.
He just rides amazing.
Cool.
It's true.
We just love to ride together with once.
Like you've not been riding so far or couldn't so far.
Some rider I want to go shoot with?
Yeah.
No matter if actual rider legend, whatever.
I don't know.
Not really.
I'm kind of stoked to go with whoever.
Enjoy the moment.
It's a nice guy that kind of rides the same stuff
and I don't really have a special ride.
Awesome.
So yeah, we're basically coming to the end of our interview.
Tell me what's the next plan right now?
The next plan is, yeah, WANGLE.
Straight after this interview actually.
And just go riding there, the team challenge
and then stay in Austria for a few days probably.
Try to do some backcountry depending on how the conditions are
with Grillo and Artelango.
And then quickly back home and change bags
and go to Quebec with Ludwig Leichtner and Theo.
And that's not 100% sure about it.
There's no states in Quebec that's...
with a caravan trip with a big RV.
So road trip.
Road trip.
That's probably the most fun, isn't it?
Yeah, I've never been on an RV trip actually
and I know that in states that have huge RVs
and I would be stoked to go in one of those.
Sounds shred, definitely.
Cool.
Color.
Thanks for your time.
Thanks for having us.
And yeah, good luck on the WANGLE channel.
Thank you very much.
Shred on.
Shred on magazine. We're out.
