Richard is one of the most amazing guys I've ever met.
He's got so much passion, so much enthusiasm.
He made you look at what you could achieve, not a higher wall that you couldn't climb
over.
So he's pretty amazing.
Extremely proud, and amazed at times at the things that he has done.
I was born for funk and death, but I never fucked the deafness with a brain yet.
The only funk language I know of these, so people laugh, oh the early days I was making
beer, we were only making 17,000 licks of beer in our first year.
Now, today, we do that in a day.
But in the first few years, we weren't sure that it would succeed, but it was an occupation
for Richard and he was absolutely passionate about it.
This was the first bottle.
The greatest enjoyment of making beer is watching the customer drinking the beer and really
enjoying it.
That is the greatest pleasure.
You've got to feel the passion in your heart, you've really got to convey it to the people.
If you're just talking a little bit about bullshit and you've got no background, other people
love it real soon, people love to feel that someone has really done it.
I have beer, nothing like it, cheers.
Now, better have another one, just to make sure.
Same one, same two, same three, same 25.
I've had this incredible dream, I'm looking for the holy ground of a bale, a beer that
was golden, I've officialised it sitting in a barrel, I've thrown it on the hand pump,
all that cheesy hot slave and everything, and I've read I've been dreaming, I've been
derivating, and my puddle was wet and I woke up thinking, shut, I've had a worse wet dream.
But beer is an important part of the human race, differentisation, and the way it brings people
together, you'll be surprised how many years have been done over a bunch of beer.
Yeah, I'm really proud of it, and I think everyone who works here is proud of what we've achieved
so far, and yeah, it feels like we're just going to build and build and build, which is a great feeling.
Cool things to be part of, it's great.
We're achieving now exactly what Richard asked to do, we're doing over a million litres a year,
just on the current site, and the boys are doing that and they're doing it really well.
It's very, very difficult physically to make a litre of Emerson's beer, because it's all done by hand,
so it's all done by touch, smell, and we're still lifting things manually, so the boys have to be
physically fit, they've got to be passionate, and they've got to have some fun.
Yes, and now that's been such a success and has been sold on to a big organisation,
we're just hoping that they feel the sense of what Richard was doing and keep it running that way.
Beer is not about thinking on your own, it's about sharing with other people,
it's just been people from all walks of life together.
