The difference between New York and Turin b-boys is that atmosphere.
Out here in Italy they're very controlled, technique, everyone's coming from different
parts of Europe and all their styles just combine.
There's just more vibes here in terms of accepting.
The first time I arrived at Reggio I was in Turin since a week and when I came there
I saw two guys who finished training, they were going away and I asked them when I could
come and they told me to come Saturday afternoon and that's when everything started.
For me breakdance has become my life, I have decided to sacrifice myself for the love of
the art and whatever happens is destiny.
In this place I always find people to count on, friends, family, people who are like brothers.
I've been going to Reggio since 2001 so now it's 16 years I've been coming to Reggio
every single day.
I think breaking helped me find out who I am and it has taught me a lot of discipline
and it gives you a sense of understanding your body and yourself way better.
In the 80s breakdance was very underground, it was not on television and it was not on
the radio, it was really something for a few.
I was one of the first to see that there were people who did some weird things and I started
breaking and then I went to breakdance.
For me it was a salvation, in the sense that I, doing breakdance, moved away from the
difficult zone situations, that are the situations where nothing happens to us, it puts us
in a lot of trouble and then it's time to get back up.
The breakdance has always been an influence, it's movements like wimmy that represent
kung fu and then in the middle there's pop and everything about dance, even the classic
dance, and this is the breakdance that takes on everything and we are the evolution.
When I'm at Reggio I feel like I'm in my own world, so it's a world where I can cultivate
my art and being peace.
I believe that me and the people at Reggio, we're like a small herd, everybody is together
and we're really connected and the music and the dancing has brought us all together.
So even if it's not only dancing but rapping or DJing or graffiti, everything has brought
us together to make this small community.
Reggio is an important place for hip hop culture and art in general.
I personally, I wish that all arts come together under one roof, bringing more art together
and keeping the hip hop art as the essence of this place.
