She was only just a girlie
She was only just a girl
There was some time standing in heaven
She was only just a friend
Played piano in her basement
She was only just a friend
She told me the crazy thing is, you know, I had a ramp in my backyard before I had curtains in my lounge
We bought a civil four-sheet-wide ramp in the backyard and it was crazy
It was hard work, we flipped and scavenged wood from all sorts of places
You know, Brett put up some money and we bought some wood, we scavenged wood
We hustled ramp skin from everyone and you only had a piece of ramp skin and Durban got hit down by us
And yeah, we bought this little straight-up mini ramp in my backyard
It had a tombstone in the middle
That's it, bro, we're done with mini
The thing with the old ramp was that it was a pretty normal ramp
It was three sheets, but it's always tight training, you know, we always make tight training
The cool thing was it had this like weird tombstone, it wasn't on the side, it was like slap-dang in the middle
So there's some pretty cool stuff that went down there
But the one session that was really special was when Daniel and Javier came over from Europe
And they just fucking sent that thing on fire, dude
That was killer, it was just rad to have those dudes here and just be like, damn, this is what you can do
I think that was a really exciting session
One day, Brett and I were hanging out at the ramp
And the coach had recently lost the love of his life, or not really, it was the love of her life and he booted it out
So we decided while he doesn't have a girlfriend to tell him what to do
We would make as much use of the backyard as possible and jam that wall, that ramp right up to the wall
Either side, take up the backyard, no access for the girls and the ladies, just a man cave, basically
We smashed down walls, we had to throw concrete slabs, just the preparation was a couple months' work
There's one thing I gotta say about building a six-sheet wide ramp with bald corners and an extension
It will put your friendship to test
