We're here at Citrix Synergy 2017 in Orlando, and I'm at the Stratodesk booth.
Can you tell us a little bit about the company and what you're showing here at Citrix Synergy?
Oh, absolutely.
This is Emmanuel Pierre Kerr, founder and CEO of Stratodesk.
We are showing here our PC repurposing software Notage Desktop, which is essentially a piece
of software that is installed on PCs.
It gets rid of the existing windows.
It connects to Citrix, so it essentially converts a PC to a thin client, just by software.
That's one thing.
The second thing, which is the new thing, the one we just announced here at this show,
is that you can buy a $99 thin client based on the well-known Raspberry Pi platform.
You can buy this machine from Viewsonic.
It's called the Viewsonic SCT25, and this is the HDX ReadyPi platform.
If you have heard about it, Citrix is working on this HDX ReadyPi program.
They love their Raspberry Pi platform.
It's a great platform for thin computing.
It has full graphics acceleration, so their performance is wonderful.
Actually, you can see it down there in the Citrix booth if you go to the Red Bull Racing
demo.
There are race cars, you can sit into the simulator, you can go and do your labs.
It's all on this $99 Raspberry Pi-based thin client from Viewsonic running the Stratodesk
No Touch Desktop operating system software.
That's the key point about this software.
It's available both as the operating system of this Raspberry Pi-based thin client, but
it's also available as a standalone product for repurposing PC.
On top of that, the bracket that unifies both of these solutions is No Touch Center or Enterprise
Grade Management software.
This is an important point.
This is something that we felt very early in this program that will be the key point
about this, because people are using thin clients in large quantities.
You need Enterprise Grade Management, auto-assign, automatic rollout, reporting, scripting, and
easy-to-remember structures, scalability, 100,000 endpoints, and more replication between
different instances.
These are features we have available today and we are showing here at Citrix Synergy.
Would it be possible to get a quick demo?
Oh, absolutely.
When we just walk over to our demo, what I will show is a batch type login using Imprivata,
which is a great provider for single sign-on.
We will use it, login without username, password, and go directly into our Citrix session.
Here, we are showing this Raspberry Pi-based thin client, the Viewsonic T25, running our
Stratodesk No Touch Desktop operating system, and additionally, we are having an RFID reader
for login with just a fob, a keyless device, a keyless token for easy login.
We also have a speaker.
This is about Skype for Business.
If you are familiar with Skype for Business, there is a Citrix Real-Time Media Optimization
Pack.
This is available and it's installed on this machine.
You can see the Viewsonic T25 plug in here.
There is an optional dual-screen module available, so you can connect two screens to the Raspberry
Pi.
Now, let's just go over it.
We login the reader beeps.
You have seen we are using the Imprivata single sign-on software, one sign.
In this case, it presents me a list of available desktops.
You can configure it any way you want.
You can go directly into a connection.
In fact, most people will configure it in a way, say in a hospital scenario.
You want to go there, you use your badge to login to the Imprivata middleware.
It will then present you the Citrix desktop.
You see, it's amazingly small, fast.
It's amazing how fast you can login with this system.
Now we have this full-screen Windows 10 desktop provided by Citrix.
That's right of our servers.
We have full H.264 acceleration, so it's really, really fast.
It's an awesome platform.
Thanks for taking the time to show VMBlog and our readers.
We hope you have a very successful show.
Thank you.
