My mission as an artist is to, one, create the best art that I can create.
Being faithful to Jesus and the platform that he's given me, I want to make sure that when
he's giving me on my steward well.
What I want people to remember most about the tour is this theme, come alive, like that
they would have been challenged in some way to come alive to areas that they've been dead
in in their life.
I want people to walk away saying there's a movement, this one, one, six thing is happening
and you know what I'm saying?
It's a movement of unashamed people, a lot of people who are unashamed about their faith,
you know, being excited about it and going off into the world and doing something about
it.
One of the things that is especially joyful for me is when we do these neutral events
that aren't like churches and you got workers that just came in for another day on the job
and then they get impacted by what they see going on.
Today, a guy who's working security by bus, I got to sit with him, share the gospel with
him for like half an hour, he said that this event is a turning point for him.
So, for those are the things that bring for me the most joy.
Every night we get to go up there and we get to worship God and then on top of that we
get to share the gospel with people.
Life is short, when eternity is long, we should be concerned the most about where we're going
to be the longest and since that's in the presence of God in some way, I want to live
and leave a legacy that has people growing in that truth.
My target audience of music is for the hood, like for dudes in the hood, girls in the hood,
people that live in inner city.
When I make music, I think also about people in the church and it's funny how my music
translate between the two, like I have one song and I can take it to the hood and the
hood love it, but I'll take it to the church and the church love it at the same time, which
is a rarity that I've seen happen, but I definitely make music with my heart thinking
about people that don't know nothing about the Lord.
But I also want the people in the church to hear it and have that same heart, like for
those people, so the message of my music is geared towards the hood, but the message and
the method of it also I put to encourage the church to go and be alive in those alive.
I fell in love with rap like in 93 and I feel like rap kind of found me.
I never thought that it would be like an actual career.
It was more like, to be honest, it's funny.
It was because I couldn't get worked in like, I mean, I got like a master's degree and a
teaching credential.
I'm more like the, like kind of like the he who has ears, you know what I'm saying?
Like, if it resonates with you, then I'm trying to reach you.
I try to be as honest as possible in music, so when I'm sitting down to create music,
it's usually something I've been like chewing on for a while, like something that's already
happening in my life.
She would be a honest man that did his absolute best to live out his faith and share it with
God.
