I've never been hang gliding, but it looks like fun.
Is it hang or hand?
No, not really.
I've always wanted to do bungee jumping or maybe skydiving or something like that because
it doesn't interest me, but I've never done any of them.
We're really into trying it, but I don't think I actually have the courage to do it, so if
anybody, whoever does it, it must be pretty brave, try and learn junky.
What is software development? I hope one day I will be a good programmer.
I like aviation at all because I like the look down on the people, not only on the people,
but on everything. It seems to you everything so small, like small problems will stay down
in the ground. I was thinking about some way how to get into the air and this one was the
closest to me and I started two years ago. For this kind of flying you have to do some
course because you could kill yourself right on the first launch, so it had to start with
course and it took about two months.
Mostly depends on weather, so here in Ireland if I would do such a course it would take
me like two years, maybe even longer, but if I was in check and I got pretty good weather
so I was able to do it in two months. I'd say that I had still more hours flow in Czech
Republic during the course than during one and a half year here trying to fly, but let's
say in summer you get more than on winter. If you don't get quite good wind conditions
so you can be straight in five minutes down there. It can be just top to bottom and sometimes
when you get good conditions so you can stay there how long you want. My record was about
two hours, a little bit over two hours and guys who are flying competitions so they can
stay there like four hours or six hours.
I think it was actually at first I had to become a member of IHPA. I didn't need to
actually, because they have already some experience with sites and everything so they give you
some simple nice mark where you actually have pointed out exactly all the places where you
can go.
It's above the sea and I like the contrast of the, that's the place here. I like the
contrast of the sea and the mountains.
Well if I will be talking about hang gliding only so it's about 40 people out from my land.
IHPA website actually there is quite nice page set up about all the tools of the weather
you can find exactly. You can pick the area where you want to go. You can see the wind
direction, how it's going and based on it you will decide which place you can go. I like
most this one you know, because it's simply that you can see what's going to be in Cork
and Van and so then based on the wind direction you just pick up which place you will be.
I think that there are people who always know what's the limit and where they wouldn't go.
For sure they wouldn't risk but sometimes there are people who are a little bit crazy
and they have their limit a little bit higher than others.
Gear which you need is the hang glider, harness, helmet. The rest is just additional stuff
like a vario. It shows you how fast you go up, how fast you go down, how high you are,
how long you are in the air and speed if you connect it to probe and there are like more
advanced types as well which actually shows you GPS coordination. For sure when you build
a gear up so you have to always check that it's really properly everything done. You
have to hang yourself properly. You have to do a lot of checks before you go.
I'm looking forward for the future when there will be summer nice weather and you can take
out the baby and make a whole family trip and sometimes it is like this. When you go
to fly so you just take a full family and you go with them and they have that nice time.
They can do some barbecue or whatever and I'm just playing with them.
