Refugees in general are just wonderful caring people who are seriously the
strongest people I've probably ever met the obstacles they have to overcome
one to even be in America much less further their English further their
education is amazing and so I learned from these students and their families
every day just continue to push through the things that are hard and to just
appreciate what we do have and what we have we're blessed to be a blessing and
actually believe that we are here to help serve each other.
There's nothing that's going to help them transition to self-sufficiency more
than being able to understand English well, speak English well. It literally
affects every aspect of their lives positively if they're able to speak
more clearly whether that be going to the grocery store helping them get jobs
absolutely anything is affected by this so volunteers like Emmanuel and others
that volunteer their time for our classes really help us tremendously in
serving our clients and helping them become more confident and self-sufficient
here in America.
They're so wonderful and I learned so much more from them I'm sure than they
could ever learn from me just about what friendship means about perseverance
and what it means to work hard even when things are difficult. I've learned so
much about what it looks like to help each other and to live in community and
to work together to accomplish a goal so these kids have taught me about as much
as I've taught them and they're really a joy to work with. I love working at
World Relief because I'm just getting to be a part of them getting back on
their feet and creating a stable life again.
you
