We came to the city over the Nets, it's about 65 km from Minsk.
We came here to arrange another event by the name of childhood.
For the first time today, we arranged the event at the orphan's house.
It's organized by American Charitable Foundation The Savior.
The poetic theater art studio came with that foundation as well.
Of course, we are waiting for their performance.
We hope it will be a warm and friendly meeting.
We will meet each other, listen to everything that was prepared for us, and of course we
will stay for tea with desserts.
I think our meeting will be at a high level, and everything will be great.
The children will be happy, which is the most important thing.
The event by the name of childhood is the author's project of the foundation.
It was created specifically for Belarus.
We conducted for children from orphanages, children with disabilities, children from
poor and large families.
We have two main goals.
The first one is cultural and educational.
We are trying to introduce cultural elements in each organized event.
We make sure children learn something new every time, something they haven't come across
yet.
The second goal of the project is to touch upon the important social problems in Belarus
and in the rest of the world.
This is the assembly hall of the orphan's house for children with physical disabilities.
The performance will start in five minutes.
The audience and the artists have already gathered.
I offer to go and see what's going to happen.
Once upon a time there lived a musician.
This is how he looks.
I think he looks just as a real musician, doesn't he?
He went across Belarus and across the world and collected musical instruments.
And what could happen to him?
Well, he met a girl and fell in love with her.
And this is when we started our family.
Later, altogether, we made a book called Unusual Encyclopedia of Belarusian Musical Instruments.
I have neither fish, nor animal, but a red goose.
It's fighting with boredom.
And although it's from Belarus, its ancestors are Italians.
It doesn't say quack, quack, quack, but it says whatever it wants.
I touch my favorite flute, which makes our house is nicer and gives light to ourselves.
The healing properties of music have been known for a long time.
Even in ancient Egypt and Greece, doctors treated sick people with the sound and knew a lot about this subject.
Physicians of ancient China thought that music can heal any illness.
They even gave out musical prescriptions.
It would be great if Belarusian folk music would cure all ailments over the next orphanages' tenets.
And all their cherished dreams would come true and so would ours.
Do you hear?
It's a cool, cool bird.
I suppose it's time for us to wish for something.
What would you wish for?
I'd like to have a remote control car.
A computer.
I want to have a scooter.
How many wishes can I make?
I have so many.
I don't know which one to choose.
Yes, okay, I did it.
And I want all our children to be healthy.
And I want peace in the whole world.
I want to have a smartphone.
And I want to have songs.
These are children's fantasies.
So pure, so clean, so naive.
But deep inside, all of them dream about real home and loving parents.
It's normal because all of us are children and all of us want to have home, to be loved, to be cared for and to be needed in this world.
Pray for me, mother, pray for me, your prayer means a lot to me.
And as a child, tell me about our fairy tale.
In my memory, let you be a good luck.
Pray for me, mother, pray for me, your prayer means a lot to me.
And as a child, tell me about our fairy tale.
Pray for me, mother, pray for me, your prayer means a lot to me.
I would be happy if all children lived in families, and every child had mom and dad.
We have 78 children here, 56 of whom are left without care and support of their parents.
It's extremely painful to watch these children.
I am all for the children to grow in families, to have parents and never be abandoned.
The institution itself surprised us immensely, nice and friendly atmosphere, where children are of great importance and nurses and teachers are real enthusiasts and do everything for the sake of the children.
The children liked the performance a lot.
I saw their rise, I saw them watch and listen.
It can be better for the artists.
The children liked everything.
They were interested not only in musical instruments, but also in how they sounded.
For example, this is a bagpipe.
It's a musical instrument, which was widely spread among many European nations.
A bagpipe was especially popular in Belarus in the 12th century.
It inspired warriors to grade deeds.
And this is how a reed pipe sounds.
A musical instrument popular among many Slavic people.
It's retained its original appearance to the present day.
It's a wooden reed or rush pipe with a bell, made of horn or birch bark.
And this pipe, as you can see, is a big one.
It's so lonely, it has a low voice.
Now we can give it the opportunity to sound properly for a while.
And that's an interesting instrument called a jingle.
In the 19th century, people began to put it around horses' necks as a decoration during
the wedding ceremony.
People believed that whoever listened to its sound would be happy.
It might be just a nice fantasy, but sometimes it feels so good to dream and to believe in
the miracle.
And that's what I guess.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go all straight.
With everything.
Come here.
Vesina, come here.
Come here.
Vesina, come here.
Come here.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Vesina.
Let's go.
