I actually, this might sound a lot, I like days when I'm actually solving problems.
Budget Council will be like that. Budget Council will be real work.
Then you come out and you think okay, we make progress today. We've got stuff done.
Don't take a picture of this.
Okay, all right.
Good morning.
Well, thank you. I must say this year it's light outside. Normally I come out here and it's dark outside.
So you started a little late this morning probably from my old age. I appreciate that.
But I do enjoy this. I think the President's Cup is a good healthy competition that gives you some focus.
I certainly enjoy coming out and making the presentation. But before I do that, I want to do something that I actually enjoy even more.
And that is to each and every one of you, congratulate you, and thank you for what you're doing for your country.
Your university is very proud of you and will be proud of what you did to go on and serve our country.
And then to present the President's Cup, I try not to take sides. I'm a Navy guy myself, but it is good that the Navy has won.
It's good that the Army's won. It is now good as I was promised at the start of the year that the Air Force would get their name engraved here.
So to everyone in the Air Force, congratulations.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
I need to know what that budget is.
Is it actual health or is it health-related, a report card on health-related policies?
Oh, it's health-related.
Margaret, I think you have some friends here.
Thank you, Margaret, for everything you've done and all that you've met for generations of onwards.
But let it be said more plainly.
Simply, we love you.
Ladies and gentlemen, Margaret Jackson.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Well, welcome to everybody, and it's always good to have our friends and next on Mobile Backup.
You're here with generous philanthropy as your today, next on Mobile.
Art to me, I'm sure you are, can be very proud of your commitment to education, to higher education.
Certainly to you too, it has made all the difference for us.
These folks are really committed to this, and I just want to say as a citizen, certainly a president of the university,
I really appreciate that commitment and your friendship with us here at UT.
I've peaked for you all.
We've hit a new record, and I know it's one that you were ancient toward, but I'll let Sarah take the thunder on that one.
So Sarah and everyone on Mobile, thank you.
I have an iPhone, which has an iPod on it.
I like Jimmy Buffett, I like Country Western, George Stray, Willie Nelson.
Yeah, if I hear it on the radio rap, I'll enjoy it. I just don't, I don't recognize the, I won't hear one in this, I know that.
Each boys, not more than mine.
We're the Rolling Stones, I wouldn't saw the Rolling Stones when they were here.
I mean, the guy has an unbelievable amount of energy.
I'm curious, sir, what did you want to be when you were little?
Yeah, I get asked that a lot.
Do you really?
No clue.
I was born almost to the day nine months after World War II.
The world was opening up in front of us.
So you really didn't, it wasn't as competitive a world for us.
Yeah, so we didn't give it a second thought.
Interesting.
Let's see if we can switch a couple of times.
It's not funny.
I'm a small boy, sir.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
They seem to all know you.
They seem to all know you.
Yes, sir.
Ready?
All right.
How are you doing?
What are you doing?
I'm a teacher.
I'm Bill Bell.
Yeah, nice to see you.
I'm Bill Bell and I had you for your first 12 years.
I told you to do something new when you rode into town that you wouldn't ride in.
Yes, sir.
All right, good.
Yeah, I'm like, you're on a tightrope.
Hey, how are you?
How are you?
We're the photographer.
Yeah, I wonder about that.
Here, take pictures, please.
Yeah, well, we'll catch everything.
And just put it online.
And also try to alter, you know, do some facial alterations and a few local words.
Local words would probably be appropriate.
Bill was the mayor of Houston.
Briefly, this guy and I have practiced a lot together.
I didn't know that.
Way back.
Way back.
Good to see you, my friend.
Hey, give me a hug.
Thanks, Joe.
You think we'll make it?
We'll make it.
Are you here for that?
And that is not true everywhere in higher education around the country.
But there's an opportunity for Charlie and I were talking about this great university.
So thank you for your help, for your support.
And Charlie did mention that, you know, Latin America and what goes on across the campus in some departments.
In the Black Museum and factory engineering and business and law, the focus on Latin America is critical to us.
So what brings that all together is, believe us, is the Rosadoal Institute of Latin America.
