Roller Dub is a relatively unknown and new sport in the Netherlands.
This womanly sport is known by striking clothes, a lot of spectacular and colourful additions.
My real name is Maud. My roller dubbing name is Maud of Control.
I chose it because I'm a very strict control freak.
But I really like sports. I like roller dubbing when I'm on the track.
I'm really excited.
I don't have a roller dubbing name because I'm a very strict control freak.
I don't have a roller dubbing name because I'm a very strict control freak.
But it's mainly about the sport and I don't feel like I'm always on the track.
I'm proud that I did something right. I'm proud that I did something wrong.
And that's why I don't need a different character.
Although roller dubbing is only a short time in the Netherlands,
the sport has been in the United States for 20 years.
This is an old sport from the United States.
It was played by a man and a womanly sport.
It was a sustainable sport.
You also had a short track track,
while walking up the stairs.
It's called a bank track.
It was compared to running on the track.
It was a sustainable sport.
You had to stay on the track for as long as possible.
The idea is to push yourself out of the track.
You had to stay on the track for as long as possible.
In 2000, in America, a team in Texas said
that they're going to implement some new rules for the sport.
And that's how long you have to stay on the track with the modern roller dubbing.
That was so popular at one time
that there were a lot of teams in America.
It was a competition.
It was quickly expanded to other continents.
It's also in the Netherlands.
It was the first league in the Netherlands.
At the moment, three or four years later,
there are 15 leagues in the Netherlands.
They don't all compete at the same level.
But that's good.
Roll Derby is a team sport at first.
A women's sport.
It's a contact sport.
So you have a lot to do with each other.
So I think that also creates faster barriers.
Roll Derby is played by two teams of five girls.
We have a sort of short track track.
So you skate all the time.
And those five girls in your team are divided into four supporters.
And one girl is a jammer.
She's going to put a special band on her helmet
where a star is standing.
So everyone knows who the jammer is.
The jammer is going to score points.
So with all of them, you're going to start running.
On a flight signal, the two jammers start at the same time.
And they're going to pick up the party.
And if you're a defender, and you're picked up by the jammer,
then you score points.
So if you have a track, you score points.
And then you skate for two minutes.
You skate around, for at least two minutes.
So at some point, one of the jammers says,
well, I'm going to cut it off.
Because it's tactical to stop at some point.
And then the jam is over.
And then the world starts again.
And then you do 30 minutes behind each other in the first half.
Then you have a short break and you have 30 minutes in the second half.
And then at some point, I've seen a lot of people.
I've seen a lot of people who have seen a lot of people.
That's why they recognize me as a sport.
Get at the warehouse.
Clean up on all five.
I just want to tell you all that you're my new heroes.
Well, put some skates on. Be your own hero.
She came in second out of two teams.
That's right. Celebrate Lidia.
I was really fantastic. And then I thought, yeah, I want to do this.
On top of that, there were three years left.
In June, we were set up by Borkershoek, Savanya,
who started it in the Utrecht.
At a warehouse, she was at the door, in Overcrack.
A cool group of girls.
And Erik, as well as Ernest Baumolden,
was also there to take the boys away.
Years that went away and were difficult to find.
At the beginning, we were already training in the V-Markt Hall.
They were already closed.
And with the help of a group of ten girls,
I think ten or eleven of them,
well, now I'm walking fifty-five years,
so it's going to be a long time.
That Red Derby as a women's sport started,
I think it's very good.
If you think about it, it was from the year 2030,
against the mouse.
Back then, there was a more needed women's emancipation.
It always stayed that way.
We still have to improve.
But for the rest of the sports field,
it doesn't make much of a difference.
I think it's nice that there are a lot of men's teams.
They also have mixed competitions,
so it's just good for them.
A Roller Derby is originally a women's sport.
Or rather, a Roller Derby, as it is now,
is really a women's sport.
I think it's really fun,
because it makes it a little bit exclusive.
There are men's teams in the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands, you have one team in Groningen,
and a national team where mixed players also participate.
I value it very much as a men's Roller Derby.
And some men can do it really well,
they are very tactical and have a very nice game.
But what you often see in the starting men's teams,
is that it's very hard.
Men are physically harder than women,
and they go so hard into it,
that it's just the one thing to consider,
the other thing to consider.
And it's a little bit of a game.
Actually, almost all men who play in men's teams,
they were first in Gijsrecht,
so they were expecting to know the rules.
It's the same game, but it's not the same game.
And I think the women's game is a little more beautiful.
It's very interesting to see how they play.
I've only seen it,
and the language has been changed a lot.
Yes, I think it's nice that a men's team has been established.
But I don't think it's going to become more familiar
than a women's team.
It would be a shame,
because it's a moment to end up with a women's team,
a women's sport.
I think it's necessary to change your image quality,
to become more serious.
If you want to do something else,
or do something else,
then take people seriously, if you can't put them on in your hop-pants,
in your net-cows, and your friends.
I don't think the image needs to be adapted to the sport,
because it has an attractiveness power in the first place,
and not only to be able to play, but also to be able to watch.
And how you should define yourself as a player in the tracksuit,
whether you're wearing net-pants or not,
you have to define yourself.
But it's a little bit of a pain.
I think it's natural.
You notice that when I started the sport,
there was a lot of net-pants,
there were too many net-pants,
and if you look at it now,
two years ago, I don't know,
but it wasn't that good.
It was our WK,
and when you see the matches,
you look at national teams,
they all wear tight sports jackets,
and even if you look at local matches,
it all looks more sporty.
You still see someone
who thinks he's a crazy old kid,
where it's almost the end.
