All right. You guys ready? All right. Well, I hope you can hear me out there. Good afternoon,
everyone. On behalf of the Carmody family and the Grand Blank Board of Education, we thank
you for joining us for this special dedication of the Charlie Carmody Spirit Rock. I'd like
to thank our cheerleaders, members of the Palm Squad, our marching band members along
with the Color Guard, and our football players for joining us, as well as many special guests,
board members, and community members. Also, a special thank you to J.P. Adams, our grounds crew,
and our grounds crew for ensuring that the Spirit Rock and sign were securely put in place and
thanks to the owners of Rock Bottom Stone Supply Company for their generous donation. Rumor has
it that Charlie's two brothers, Andy and Dan, guys over here, are behind this big stone and they
knew it was exactly what Charlie would have wanted. The Spirit Rock will be a place for our
students to express their Bobcat spirit as Charlie had always wished. Students can use this rock as
a rallying point for school spirit and a place to decorate, highlighting the Grand Blank spirit
that Charlie so embodied as a 1980 graduate, teacher, and longtime sports announcer. So,
from this time forward, let this rock and location forever be known as the Charlie
Carmody Spirit Rock. We love teacher and voice of the Bobcats. Help us keep Charlie's relentless
enthusiasm, spirit, and love for Grand Blank alive. Paint this rock with a positive message to cheer
on the Bobcats. Always please be respectful of the building and grounds, and as Charlie would say,
let's keep awesome going. As superintendent, it is my honor to officially deem this large stone
as the Charlie Carmody Spirit Rock. Carmody family, if you would like to cut the ribbon and
officially mark the rock, that was the time.
The Grand Blank football team doesn't kick off their week two game until seven o'clock here
tonight, but already a good collection of Bobcat's faithful standing out here to celebrate and honor
one man. That man, the late Charlie Carmody, for 30 plus years, Carmody was the voice of
Bobcat football. Tonight, Grand Blank will take the field with out him behind the mic for the
first time after Carmody passed away suddenly back in March. As we speak, the team is holding a
spirit rock dedication in his honor, and just before kickoff, the Bobcats will name the press
box after the man who sat up there for over three decades. Carmody's impact, stretching beyond this
school as well. Last week at Atwood Stadium, the Flint-Parman Ainsworth announcer called for a
moment of silence and remembrance of the late G.B. announcer prior to the two teams playing in
the vehicle city. All in all, a bunch of special moments for a guy who clearly was much more than
just a voice coming up tonight on WNEM TV 5 News at six o'clock. We'll have much more,
by the way, Charlie Carmody for now, reporting live from Grand Blank, Simon and Gost, at WNEM TV 5 News live.
Awesome. Great. Thank you.
I think Olivia is the painter in the family.
Thank you for joining us for this one more round of applause for the Carmody family.
Nice. Thank you very, very much.
Some people got active.
Some people got dead.

That's good.
What was on your face?
