MUSIC
Today we start off with a...
well, the staff meeting and all the support staff.
Really just a weekly catch up to talk about
the main line is health of the guys from there.
Just making sure we're all on the same page,
so all our messages to the guys are consistent.
And then it's really the day from there
is based around what we're going to do on court.
MUSIC
Gym session is pretty much either you're trying to...
a little bit of rehab for those that need it,
but a lot of it is just working on things
that will strengthen your game, your personal game.
MUSIC
Once the season starts, then it's just maintaining
and just trying to keep fit and healthy.
When you do go into the gym, don't go in there just to...
you put this on the board,
you know, a little bench press or a deadlift
or whatever it is, you know, just try and get something out of it.
Otherwise, it's just a waste of time.
Now, I've spoken with Steve a lot about
making sure that what we're doing in the gym is relevant,
and so we are getting games and getting out of this out of there.
Yeah, most mornings we'll watch some sort of
either review or scouting video of opposition
or how we've gone.
And then get out on the floor, which is where all the players
and all the coaches want to be anyway.
MUSIC
All right, so we're going 2020, 2020, so we're
down dribble, low, and then out, right hand and left hand.
MUSIC
You've got to train harder than what you do in a game,
because then when you come to a game,
you're not going to be surprised by anything.
If you go in with that kind of attitude,
you should be able to deal with any adversity that comes on.
MUSIC
You know, when we go out there, if you're not enjoying it,
you know, what are you even doing in the building?
But the boys also know when it's time to, you know,
go full throttle and just go to work.
My opinion, under pressure.
If you want to get to right hand, you need to use a bit more speed.
So I might be bang and just, you know,
everyone's going to play you on your high side on this block.
I know where you are.
Good.
Good, good, good, come on.
Yeah, our week has sort of evolved around getting on the floor
and on the breakfast floor, and from there,
it's about getting on into game night and in the games,
because that's where we all love to compete and showcase our talents.
What we're trying to get out of the next two weeks,
just getting a little bit more on the same page with our system,
it's looking good.
I think for now, we have enough there.
We have enough in our arsenal, which is really just getting comfortable with it,
and then we need to make sure that by October 7th,
you know, it's kind of a second nature to all of us.
Good job, boys.
It's like a little reward, you know,
when it's message day, everybody goes a little bit harder,
because you know you're going to get your body tended to.
So, you know, message times, everybody loves it.
Hey, Tommy, you watched the Auckland House last night?
No.
No.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
No, shit.
See, won't you watch it?
I know said heaps of times, there's just no dickheads.
Guys get along really well here, like with anybody.
If you've got an enjoyable workplace, you know,
you're going to enjoy it and you're going to, you know,
reap everything from it.
Everybody knows what to do, what not to do, how to treat people.
It's pretty simple stuff, but when that goes astray,
then guys are pretty quick to hold everybody accountable,
because that's why I think the culture in this club
keeps getting better and better or is sustainable at the moment.
It's front and centre of all our recruiting,
knowing that they're coming into a place where they're expected
to conduct themselves in accordance with their club values,
so we feel that if we can get that right,
to carry that on really seamlessly.
