Today I'm going to introduce you guys to the new Matic auto-assisted braking device.
The Matic has a very low impact force on the rope and some of the tests that we've done
we've noticed that it's been able to reduce impact force by up to 40%.
All of the internal parts that are rope bearing are cut from a precision cast steel.
We have a patented anti-panic system.
You lower with the device and maybe you pull on the handle too much, the cam will re-engage.
We should take a look at the pivot belay device.
You can see that the angle of the belay device changing which means that I can actually control
the way it releases very smoothly and very easily.
The main advantage over anything else actually on the market at the moment is the ease of
release and the controllability.
The Mantis is a slimmed down version of the pivot.
You can see it doesn't have any of those features, so it's lighter weight, simpler but great
to use for all-round track climbing.
It accommodates the same diameter ropes from 7.5 to 11 and this is called the grip.
You can see that it feeds and releases very easily just like a regular tubular device.
However, when I want to actually take advantage of the holding power, you can see that it
splits in half and the bottom end here is stainless part, comes in contact with the
rope and you're getting more friction between the stainless end and the carabiner.
The Chool 2 is basically a single cuba, it's based on the same concept as the Mega Chool
that we showed last year.
We can actually use it for thicker ropes, so it's especially made for beginners, for
gym climbers, where you have thicker ropes, 10.5mm ropes, old ropes, fuzzy ropes.
Also by reducing the braking strength of that one, what we can do is that we can actually
make the fall a little bit more dynamic.
New index is under 200 grams, super sweet, so lighter than the Enforce.
It's called the index because you can access the trigger from behind like that, when you're
jugging and if you have no rope weight, you have to hold like this and then slide it up,
but with this it allows you to just slide it up like that, so it's super cool.
Dual density grip, dual density trigger, oversized holes so you can flip the carabiner around,
and these are the speed holes, which do nothing but they're called the speed holes.
The new upgraded Ascension Handled Rope Ascender is 20% lighter.
The thumb catch for the cam that allows you to open it one-handed is more pronounced.
They have made the top of the device more ergonomic, so when you're ascending like this
and you use your second hands to pull down, the pinky rest is a little more kind of ergonomically
suited because there's a lot of weight coming down on your pinky when you're pulling on
the handle.
