I don't know everything about Western authenticity, so I was going to find somebody.
And luckily we found Sarge, who really, I mean, he was steeped in this stuff.
What you doing in these part, boy?
You got party teeth.
What I know about Westerns comes from Sergio Leone movies and Clint Eastwood movies and
Hollywood's version of the Old West.
And so it was nice to have Sarge, Dave Staley, on hand to really make sure that we were doing
it right.
Dave Staley, of course, he's a reenactor with the Mojave mule skinners and everything
else.
So he's got tons of people that'll, they do this every weekend.
So how many total do you have in the unit?
Our unit spans about 55 to 60, and I'm a Sargeant major in my unit.
That's why they call me Sarge.
And he provided all the props and the guns and the authentic Western wear.
These are actually my uniforms.
This is one, I'm actually retiring this.
This has seen a lot of combat.
I mean, he outfitted like half a dozen people just from, you know, out of the trunk of his
car.
Kutrimans, which are the stuff, guns, spurs, this, that.
This is the 66 yellow boy.
This is an 1849 Taka.
This is a wall hanger.
This is a 1851.
Oh, I see why you don't drive further.
Yeah.
There's the pin there.
This is what they call a black powder pistol.
Good.
He really strives to have authenticity.
And there's some things in the film that, on first glance, like the, the very colorful
scarves that are worn by the cowboys where you just go, oh, that's a little odd.
The bandana that I wear was very brightly colored and a couple of people mentioned what's
with the purple bandana with the flowers on it.
Men usually wore the pretty stuff.
This is an authentic touch that those cowboys would wear a scarf given to them by their
honeys back home as a little reminder of, of their, their ladies they had left behind.
The rest is history, you know, um, it was such a pleasure to do this.
It was great fun, great fun, had a ball.
Thank you, George.
All right.
That's good.
You
