And I started thinking about this, I was like, doing cool shit, what kind of cool shit am I doing?
It's basically people doing what they want to do and not doing what people tell them to do.
That's such a great slogan.
Picked up a bass and I was 23.
I was in a couple little first bands before the pussy,
but one was called Transylvania 2000, that was in Kansas City, I was living in Kansas City.
And I played in a band called Dirty Father Boas, which was really bad.
I think top attendance may have been like 12 people.
But I did figure out when I was playing with those guys, that's when I figured out that I knew that I wanted to tour.
I was like, I just want to play.
I'd go to bed every night and I would just imagine it kind of happening.
I'm feeling excited about it and just say I'm ready.
I had met Blaine, who came down this thing called Sleaze Fest.
I was telling Blaine, I said, I want to do an all-girl band called The Home Records,
because you got me and my wife Ryder, she's an insane guitar player.
I got two calls in one week, or within a week or two.
One was some friends of mine that lived in Minneapolis, and one was from Blaine.
And Ryder and they said, we're going to do a band together, and we need a bass player.
I didn't even think I had a bass at the time, but I took a 17-hour bus ride up to Kentucky.
I just knew it from the first note when we jammed.
I was like, oh my god, there's something here, just magical.
And then we got a 30-minute set together, and then we cut about three months.
And we did five originals and six covers, and we were going to call the band Hell's Halfacre.
The first show was in Athens, Georgia, with some friends of ours.
Blaine walked in the door, like we were all up there loading all the shit up in Kentucky,
and he goes, national pussy.
Walked right in, and they were listening to the double live concert on the way down.
And Ted Nygent, when we heard that, it was a little low, so I'm going to dedicate this to all that Nashville pussy.
It's called Lang Langsley Poutine.
So we changed it on stage that night.
If it wasn't for Motorhead and Lemmy and stuff, we did our first US with them,
and it was like, it was just a marriage made in heaven.
And our whole crew, they loved us, and we loved them.
And Lemmy's is the kind of guy that, they're the kind of band, but especially Lem,
that he tours constantly.
He tours and he makes records, and that's what he does till forever.
After we toured with Motorhead, how they go on tour and they don't take any days off.
Like, you know, if they're going to do a US or something like that, they'll maybe have three days off
in like, you know, 40 shows or something like that.
The best Nashville pussy tour that we ever did was a full US, and the lineup was Motorhead,
Headlining, and then we remained for Clu Manchu, Super Suckers.
I've been kind of making clothes for a little while, and I had this idea that, you know,
maybe I could do a line, you know, but I never done a line before, and it seemed really daunting to me.
And I sat on the idea for probably three years of like, oh man, I have this idea for a cool jacket, you know.
It wasn't until I just was like, you know what, I'm just going to make one jacket.
Like, I got a couple hundred bucks right now.
After that jacket, I wanted to do a blazer, this leather blazer, so that was my second one.
And as soon as I made those two jackets, within three months, I had like a 12-piece collection.
I got asked to do this fashion show, and we ended up doing kind of more of like an art project.
We did like two looks, and then an art installation, two looks, and art installation, two looks, and art installation.
It was just fun, you know, we had such a good time with it.
And we got on the front page of the Wall Street Journal from that fashion show,
and I'm going to be doing a new line with a couple girlfriends of mine called Outcome the Wolves.
Just capsule collections, we're only going to do six pieces.
Three pairs of pants and three leather jackets, and that's it.
But these pants are either out of control.
We're in development right now, and working on all the samples.
And so I would say by February, you know, by February next year, if all goes well,
then you'll have some Outcome the Wolves.
My name's Corey Castle. I used to be Corey Parks.
We're at Vinyl Solution in Huntington Beach, California.
Thanks for checking out DKS, and we'll see you around.
Thank you.
