Acaquan on May 13th from 1 to 5. It's the same date as River Fest and Patriot
Scuba is having a fundraising event. Four galleries are participating. Red Art
and Design, Art Alacart, the Artist's Undertaking Gallery and the Lough Gallery.
It should be a busy day in Acaquan.
Let me tell you about your jeans Tuesday May 16th from 1 to 3 p.m. Here a talk
by Shannon Combs Bennett at the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society meeting. The
speaker will cover the basics of genetic genealogy testing, what the various
companies offer, the validity of ethnicity testing, and some real-life
examples of how to merge DNA and genealogy research. The meeting is free.
The talk will take place in room 112 of the Holland Hall Senior Center at 1500

The Poheic Church Hodgepodge Yard Sale is Saturday May 20th opening at 7 a.m.
until 1 30 p.m. On sale will be furniture, collectibles, household goods,
books, media, clothing, and more. All proceeds will benefit the many ministries
of Historic Poheic Church, which serves Greater Lorton. Historic Poheic Church is

Also May 20th the Eagle Festival at Mason X State Park is huge with expanded
hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The friends of Mason X State Park and the park staff
invite you to participate in this jam-packed day of live animal shows,
activities, music, food, and more. Bring your friends and make a day of it. It is
not to be missed. Admission to the park is free that day. So you could do Poheic
till 10 and then the park.
