You're going to turn right here, yeah?
Turn right here, or?
Where the heck are we?
Why would you do this to us? Why?
We've just been trying to climb up. The steepest hill in the world.
It's not even a proper steep hill, it's a reasonably normal hill.
How was it? Was it really difficult?
I just want to grab a drink and hold my hands up, man.
Too sexy, I just want to eat a cereal bowl.
So here we go, we're taking two electric scooters for about 300 miles from London to Brussels.
I've been overtaken by three bicycles.
No, my bike's going five miles an hour, so I'm just waiting for something to change the battery.
It's a new battery, it's going to take some time to get it properly charged.
We just arrived at Old Kent Road, and these are like motorcyclists enthusiasts, right?
We're going to speak to one of the guys and ask him what he thinks about our electric bike.
Oh my god, so they're Chinese electrical scooters.
It's overheating.
Really bad in front of everyone.
We're having a crisis and you have an apricot.
I wasn't worried, yeah, I saw the smoke, I wasn't worried, and he quickly got out, I'm like, okay, I'm going to go as well.
He ran for his life.
What do you mean, you got out the car before me?
Yeah, I got out to check on the car.
Yeah, check on the car.
Yeah, right.
I need a new radiator, man, I hope they're not like conduit today.
Not right now, not at hand right now.
The bike's still working, why don't we just end this whole crusade to process now, since, you know, we're still on the road and
Salom's car broke down and said, hey, cut.
You know, we almost came to save him.
We're going again.
It's getting a bit tense between Salom and Oma right now.
Salom wants to be there at a particular time.
Oma's still a bit new, and this time, I mean, I've done a lot of bike riding and stuff, but Oma's still quite new until all of this.
He's kind of, you know, pushing himself and obviously it's really hard with the bikes.
Sometimes they run out of power and battery and we've got a pedal.
Maybe I just need to have a secret word with both of them separately and, you know, turn the man up a bit.
Lady, where's your love gone?
I was looking, but can't find it anywhere.
They always offer when there's loads of love around.
When you're sure tops for me, there's nowhere to be found.
Well, I know your game, the situation is the day don't you get nothing from me.
20 minutes.
The best thing about Belgium, everything's close by.
This is whole country, so it's going to be close by.
You're right.
You're right.
Yeah.
All right.
I'm just showing her the power of my bike.
All right, four miles, yeah?
Four miles.
Yeah, straight on.
And then?
No, no, then it's around about.
And you're doing another, like, 3.4 miles.
And then it's like a right.
You're coming to a mini roundabout.
So at the end of this, we're doing a right?
No, no, no, no, three, five point.
No, you've got another four miles.
Yeah, and then?
And then you're coming to a roundabout, straight over the roundabout, and it's 3.4 miles.
This hotel will see you stop.
Why?
Why?
Because I'm dead.
It's 2.2 miles, man.
No.
You can do it.
Next hotel.
Yeah, there.
Where's she going?
He's actually pedaling.
I'm actually pedaling.
Why haven't you got the lights on there?
Because there's no juice.
It's not taking me anywhere.
There's no juice at all.
I'm pedaling.
It's the last point you saw me.
Yeah.
They're saying 2.2 miles, man.
I think next hotel, it will be cheap out here.
And then?
Look at that.
It's a horse.
You know what you should do?
Ask them for a time.
Listen, this isn't the time for jokes.
Ask them for a time, seriously?
This isn't the time for jokes.
Look, there's two of them.
You get two horsepower.
And then?
Let's see if there's any arm.
Let's go, man.
They're not taking it seriously in their cushy little car in there.
Hey, man.
I should drive.
Is that a problem?
Oh, no, no, no.
Oh.
We're in Bruges, finally arrived.
I've happened to pedal my butt off.
And I was just getting a bit frustrated with solemn because I don't think you get that
pedaling on the bike for about two, three miles, isn't it?
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
You don't.
Right, like for about two, three miles, isn't easy.
And I know it was my four because I ran the battery down by just trying to speed it to
Bruges, but he still just doesn't seem to like,
I don't know.
I don't know.
I just need to sleep.
I know I don't know.
We've got to Bruges last night, about 12 midnight.
especially yesterday because we got out of charge by we had two miles to do and we didn't have any
charge left in our batteries so me and Omer are like pedaling pedaling pedaling actually I wasn't
too bad I still had some but Omer was just pedaling along pedaling and all these people
were just laughing at him poor bloke I get I get this kind of electric pedal
so you're going straight on this right it's probably like the first right and then you're
doing that little round bit so it's going to go around and then straight and then you've got to go
like there's a straight on
it's been brilliant so far we arrived early so we've been able to just relax play some pool
play some snooker I mean just catch up with people from home and have some good food and
just have a laugh really and just have some fun and not worry about having to cycle or pedal or
anything just yeah it's been good okay okay Omer's just um he's completely run out of battery
we've got a huge hill to climb so um I'll be tracking him and see how he gets over there
you'll have to pedal up the whole damn thing so that's him right for not taking care of his own
battery and his own things and not charging it up and giving it to everyone else to do
so let's see he'll he'll have to so no I don't always have to charge up batteries for everyone
this is going to be held
this one has been pinned so we had this one fitted with a plush Alcantara interior
a sporty steering wheel we had an open roof had some darkened windows in the back and some
specially made for this car revolution wheels 12 inches little riva a more nippy acceleration
for in-city use so we'll take it we'll take it for a spin later what a range they're working on
it's just fantastic I saw everything from bikes to bicycles to cars to um little vans
they're enthusiastic but they were really like realistic about what they had and what was needed
for example like the new batteries and stuff like that they had an a convert electrical conversion
of solemn's car uh and when when he was showing us around that I couldn't help but think back to
when solemn's car blew up some of the designs as well of the electric cars were really you know
they were they were quirky uh which at first sight you kind of think doesn't look great
one car had a draw in it as well which is really nice but then when you think about it why should
we conform conform to the same sort of standard of car you know this is what looks nice you know
nice sleek smooth you know it's quite interesting that they they are thinking outside the box
I think finally um I've seen something which I think that can be put out in the market and um
you know people will want to buy it the reaction time on this one compared to the bikes you're
driving is it's immediately there it's like hi chaps follow you
the force of it you know when you're when I was on the bike it was just
just going so fast and I was like wow it's amazing
it was brilliant and it was just really sort of depressing at the same time because I knew
that we had to get off that and get back on our our electric scooters
you really couldn't be a solemn in your petrol so-called car
I'm actually keeping up with the traffic in this thing I can go with the traffic instead of hold it up
that was great that was you know how quickly you forget about petrol when you drive something
good quality that's electric look at the speedo look at the force of it
I don't know how I'm going to jump that hand up today I was just thinking about that
I was thinking about that
I was thinking about that
going back to your normal car
we're in brushes now but we can't find hero and oma
oma's had an accident battery's broken or something like that so we're trying to find them both now
is that them?
yeah it is them
I don't think we just found them so let's just go see what's happened hey there they are
hey we made it we made it
I don't know where we are but the lady down there told us we're in brushes
should we bring the bad news now?
would you want to hear the bad news?
okay wait what's this?
her helmet she actually used the helmet she bumped into me
what's a little bump we actually had an accident
as we started going over the copper pavements the bottom bit of here snapped off
so the conclusion is electric bikes do work
but they need to be improved
but they're shite
no they're not shite
come on man the ones that we saw in Antwerp they were bloody amazing
I wouldn't do it again with this bike but it sort of did make it and it hasn't it hasn't like
it still works I mean the batteries but like it still works everything's working on it
even though in London we don't have cycle lanes like Belgium like Belgium does we don't have
we have very hilly areas and these bikes don't have power but at the end of the day it just proves
that I don't know I think you know in a way it's definitely breaking the myth of electric vehicles
and I do feel that you know these bikes have broken the myth no matter what we've been through
it has definitely taken us 300 miles and I am bloody proud of that I am very proud of that
that's one hell of an achievement
