Here we go.
My name is Dennis Vidin and I'm the graphic artist at Denna Tom Games and working on Hotline Miami right now.
Hotline Miami is a brutal top-down puzzle shooter kind of where you're like trying to figure out the best way to kill all the guys
and you're always outnumbered like one to ten and you die the first shot and they die at first shot so
and there's a lot of violence and a lot of cheesy neon lights.
So I'm Rami, I'm half of the Dutch indie studio called Flambier and we're here at Gamescom to show off our game Supercrate box
which has been announced for PlayStation Mobile.
Supercrate box is an old-school arcade 2D platformer in which you don't have to actually, well you have to kill enemies
but it's not the thing you get points for. You get points by collecting crates and every time you grab a crate
you get a random new weapon and you don't know if it's better or worse than the old one.
So it's a game about trying to figure out what the best strategy is to use and it's a really fast-paced game.
So as an indie at Gamescom it's kind of weird because you're here in the middle of all these like huge AAA games
and there's giant e-sports tournaments of StarCraft 2 going around and there's people playing dubstep trailers all the fucking time
but it's actually quite good. There's an increasing amount of attention for indie games so people actually care.
It's really hard for the ears. I think people that play our games they have more like they can sit down and actually enjoy the game more
and we can like actually see how they're playing. I think like for other developers it's like just come inside play it out again
and we can actually sit down and talk to them a lot more I think. So it's really nice and I like to see how people play the game. It's really cool.
It's actually really cool when you see somebody play a game. It's like the best thing ever. It's so much emotions.
You know you've worked on a game like this for six months and then six more months bring to iOS and then six more months bring to play.
Well actually not six months but a long time to get into PlayStation 3 then. And it's something that you know you sincerely care about.
It's not just a game. It's something that you've worked on and thought about and discussed about.
Like the first few minutes of total suffering and despair and then when it like almost figured it out and they're like trying to sneak
and do it like stealthy and then they got cocky and they just run inside and bash the hell out of everything.
And when they finally clear the stage it's like total happiness.
That's one of the best things that you could see. Especially people enjoying your game.
you
