Hi, I'm Pete, and I'm Adam, and these are Camera Straps.
And this is our new Camera Strap, Slide.
We're going to tell you why this is the best Camera Strap that's ever been made.
But first, we're going to show you why other Camera Straps don't quite cut the mustard.
The fact that these are given away with every camera ever sold is the reason why Peak Design
exists as a company.
These hurt.
Nobody with a DSLR really needs any more help looking like a tourist.
Sometimes you want a strap.
Sometimes you don't.
Ever try to undo one of these?
Ever try to undo one of these?
Ever try to undo one of these?
I have not.
Let's take a look at the other common type of strap.
Slink straps work like this.
You screw a connector into your tripod socket, which then glides freely up and down a stationary
strap slung across one shoulder.
What's good about these is they keep the weight of the camera off of your neck and
put it onto your shoulder.
But this drawbacks too.
For one, they take up the tripod socket.
The strap and the pad are supposed to stay put, but they don't.
And things get worse when you start walking around.
They're great at getting your camera off your neck, but they turn your cannon into a loose
cannon.
It's easy to sit around and talk about the problems with existing products.
The hard part is designing the solution.
This is slide.
Slide can be a lot of things, like a sling strap, or a shoulder strap, or an X-strap.
Describe that plays nicely with your tripod, and one that helps you take smooth video.
It can be worn tight or loose, of big people or little ones.
It can hold this kind of camera like this, or this kind of camera like this.
That connects like this, and removes like this, all with one hand and super strong.
The bottom of slide had to be perfectly smooth, stitchless and seamless, but it needed to
be padded too.
How did we do it?
Tubular webbing and a patent pending.
We put grips on the top side too, so that if you wanted to use it as a shoulder strap,
you could do so comfortably.
Every single part of slide is designed to do a specific job, and do it well.
Like all Peak Design products, we designed slide with everything you need, and nothing
you don't.
Slide isn't really an X-strap, or a sling strap.
It's a new kind of strap that started by looking at the best of what's been done before.
We then incorporated tons of customer feedback, and we applied our own expertise as product
designers.
We're proud of what slide has become, and we know that you are going to love it.
Thank you.
