Namaste, my name is Kiko, I'm from Brazil.
I've been here in India three times.
Right now we are in the holy town of Rishikesh by the Madardangas north of India.
We come here actually just to explain a little bit the situation of these poor people, they
are living on the streets in the frozen nights from the Himalayas.
Actually I have one day a meditation in the full moon and I have this idea to post pictures
on Facebook to try to help to get some way of money to buy clothes, blankets, some way
to help them.
I bought 10 blankets and give it to the people on the street to try to motivate people to
do donations with my iphone.
The project started growing naturally and with the money I started to receive, I decided
to go to this slum close to the bridge in Rishikesh.
For that day I collect 303 euros, we went to the slum and start to see every house how
many members of the family are living there, in total we account 82 adults and 121 kids
and babies.
Two adults?
Two adults in total?
Yes, yes.
Five kids.
Five kids, wow.
How many?
Four children.
Four children.
How many adults?
No.
Only children here.
Are living alone?
And then?
You look after him, are you the brothers and you three, four brothers, where is the father
and the mother?
You look after them, you take care of them, you take care of them.
In the first day, we found one Indian guy who speaks English, so we asked him to come
with us to do a bargain in shopping.
How much is this one?
How much is this one?
Double?
Single?
130?
You make 120?
Sir, no bargaining.
I give you 20,000 now and 5 later, okay?
Okay, no problem.
Every 2 years, we could buy a blanket, 2 bananas, 2 packets of biscuits and a toy.
On the next day, we have more people to help.
What's good for Argentina, she was the photographer, lean for Thailand to help to bring the blankets
and put an Indian girl to help to do the translator.
What's really tough job, we arrived there with the truck full of blankets, bananas, biscuits
and toys.
Another kids, on the other side of the slab, come around and make a big crowd and shouting
for a present.
We tried to manage, control the situation, but it wasn't possible, so you have to drive
out.
So, we have 16.
We first give, this first give, okay?
We are 5 of us.
We lost the people that are helping us to protect.
So, we take 16 things, we make the same money.
We finish the game.
We come back all to the truck, yes, we make another 16 packs.
I'd say thank you for all the guys who have been helping, because in the end, when you
see people, the kids playing around, laughing, the mothers look with their eyes, look.
This system never see the low, fierce caster, but, you know, so we are here for that.
We have to do some good message, try to send some good message, and I hope this world changes,
we can live like that anymore, I think.
Thank you.
Thank you.
