You know, video diary, I'm here in Fairbanks and just off the side of Fairbanks is like
a bit of a forest, I suppose, and it's the World Ice Carving Championships and down that way
there's quite a big area of where they have a kids competition which has been going for a while
and it's finished and the single block competition has started today and so I'm in a single block
competition here at the moment and like all the way along this little road, I suppose, which goes
around the spit of the forest, there's these people with like big blocks of ice here and each
of them have got whatever amount of ice they want and they've got to turn it into all sorts of
statues and stuff so what they do is they actually draw on the ice, actually draw what they're going
to carve out of it and then they start munching away with it with chainsaws and drills and
chisels and electric bloody sort of sculpting machines and stuff, all very interesting. Okay,
I'll show you around.
Moving the block into position, are we?
Okay, electric electric tools, not this guy's carving.
A little bit. You want to get lost. Where are you from? Australia.
