It is Wednesday, January 14th. There we go. And another impressive, albeit simple, very
simple in fact, meal. Garlic shrimp today had a lot of, had a nice pallet of small shrimp.
You can see here. And wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with them. I could have
made like a stew or pasta, something like that. I didn't really want the pasta. It's
a little too much starch for me. I had potatoes for, or there were potatoes rather in the
breakfast that I had as well as the lunch that I had. And it was a little too much. Rice
though, I was fine with. So, looked up some recipes. Garlic shrimp seemed to be the way
to go. Couple cloves of garlic. Crushed them with the knife, side of the knife. Chopped
them up finely. Green peppers did the same. Nice, chopped those up. And parsley, chopped
some of that up. Started making some rice. I do have to say, bought a rice cooker. It's
magic. I can't believe how easy it is to make. You wash the rice in the pot. Then you drain
it. Drain all the water out. Once you've washed it a couple of times, put some clean water
in and bam. Press one button. Here it is. It beeps after a couple of minutes. Beep,
beep. And then magic. Perfect rice. It's amazing. I, look, I'm not going to be, I'm not going
to act, you know, glib to this manner. I understand what a rice cooker is. I've made rice in
pots before, but this is just amazing. This is magic. Garlic shrimp. Threw a couple through
some butter in the pan. Salt to taste. Bam. Threw the shrimp in with the garlic first.
Gets all the juices and flavors there. Perfect. No problems. Then the rest of the vegetables
in. Let it do its thing. And we've plated it. It doesn't look, you know what, I need
to work on plating. It doesn't really look that as great as it could. Um, but I bet it
tastes amazing. Made some real green tea here. You can see. Check that out. Those are, those
are like serious leaves. And there it is. So, I'm going to eat it. We're going to figure
out how it is. I think it's going to be good. I think it's going to be very good. Garlic
shrimp. Very easy. About, uh, prep time. Ten minutes. Cook time. Max another ten minutes.
The rice probably took the longest. That you need to throw in advance. Um, into the rice
cooker if you've got one. And it took about half an hour, twenty minutes to half an hour.
I want to say. I don't know. I was chatting while it was happening. So, I don't know.
Garlic rice. I'm going to eat. It's nine o'clock. I'm hungry.
