So, I'm holding my heart in my hands.
This heart represents this award as Holistic Nursing of the Year from the American Holistic
Nursing Association at its 30th Anniversary Conference just yesterday.
This beautiful sculpture of the heart is referred to as her and I get to hold her for a year
and then I pass her on to the Holistic Nurse of 2011.
And so, with the privilege of holding her and holding this heart of these thousands
of nurses around the world, I offer a heart-centered meditation to radiate around the world as
I journey forward to Italy, to England, to Singapore, and onward into the fall to Manila,
to Spain, to China, to Mexico.
So, if you will join me now and hold your heart in your hands and in your chest and
fall into that beautiful space inside our hearts, softening and opening the heart, allowing
light to fill up our being from within and from without.
And as you breathe in, just be reminded we're breathing in the breath of life, we're breathing
in the source of life's renewal so that we can return to our heart center.
So breathing in a new, gently holding that precious breath to hold that still point,
that void, that source for source, which allows new breath, new life to enter, that allows
creativity and new possibilities as we release and breathe out.
Just breathing in, gently connecting with that still point and breathing out, falling
in to the depths of our heart as we see that radiant light of love, of gratitude, of forgiveness
that return us to our source, our home, our inner home.
As you share this inner space with me in my inner home, both literally and metaphorically.
So breathe this in from the depths of your quiet, breathe in your beauty and your home,
your heart and let those feelings within return you so that you fall in love again and fall
in love with your own inner beauty, your own gift of life, your own gift of your being
in the world at this moment, full of gratitude for all you have to offer, opening to give
and receive all that you're here to give and receive this day as you continue again and
again to return to the heart and to the home of your heart to that still point that connects
us with source, again, breathing in and releasing.
And as we close our mind to the outer world and open our mind to the inner world, we truly
connect with source and with the radiant heart from within.
As we pause and sit in stillness and silence, even momentarily, we touch the Holy.
We touch the depth of our sacred being, holding her, holding wonder and awe in the midst of
it all, drinking it in, breathing it in, tasting it all the way to the depths of our soul.
I invite you into that place in yourself as you gently return to this space with me and
share with me this home of the heart.
