My name is Rahul Vegid and I'm 16 years old.
Basically, my deafness is moderate to severe.
I'm here close to my friends and everything.
But in some cases, when it's too noisy or everything, I can't live here.
We identified when he was six, sorry, when he was four years old in India,
but he didn't wear a hearing aid at all.
And we started wearing a hearing aid at the age of six.
Still, we're not able to use it every day.
And after moving to UK, again he was diagnosed and Dr. Putt is the hearing aid.
And from there on, he was wearing it every day.
I started playing guitar when I was around four years back.
When I started playing, I used to be living hard.
I used to be living sophisticated, how do you play, how to play chords and everything.
Once I took my time, then I got there.
Next week is going for grade five exams.
I didn't expect that you would do grade five or grade eight.
At this point of time, yes, you want to do grade eight and I'm sure you'll do it.
But when he started a few years back, that was not my aim.
So I want him to, as a pleasure of working in an instrument, playing something
and then he's hearing what he plays.
That was my idea.
But the teachers and his friends and everyone were supported him.
And yes, with the help of everyone, he started liking it and he's playing it.
Every day, I practice at home half an hour to half an hour.
And I learn new chords.
Basically, whatever song I need, I'll give it to my teacher.
My teacher makes the song and he teaches me how to make some songs and everything.
My favorite song is the Eagles. It's kind of rock music.
I'm sure the deafness is not intense for someone bringing up the talents or trying their ambition.
It is not.
And do you think other people should play other deaf young people?
Yes.
Do you think they should go for it?
Yes, they should play.
Because they have less experience.
First of all, they will shock other people learning guitar
and it gives them good skills as well as other deaf young people.
My challenge was to find out what is this potential, what is this talent and bring that out.
So now all the deaf children are like, you know, challenge children.
They have some sort of talent somewhere lying in them.
When I'm growing older, I want to do some sort of practical computing course
looking inside of you.
Also, on the other hand, I like teaching.
So I'm going to teach students who want to learn guitar.
So a couple of options.
Yes, yes.
