Right, so I'm down in the rather lovely marine parade down in Westmere and it's a little bit
wet, wetter than I planned. I've got the old 4th Chapter 2 gear on this morning. I just
saw that stop for a few minutes. I've had a week on the new Chapter 2 terry and I'm
going to give it a quick, just a quick rundown. So, here we go, flip the camera around.
Right, as I say, I've had a week on board the new Chapter 2 terry which has been developed
by Mike Pride and I just thought I'd give it a quick, quick rundown and just my impressions
of it and what I thought. It certainly looks the business and there are a bunch of different
colourways. This is the one I chose. I really like the white front after being on a black
on black bike for the last 3 years. I just thought I wanted something different and as
you can see it's got the beautiful Maori motif and just nice little details right down to
the design by Mike Pride. This one's running SRAM's eTap which after a week of using I'm
absolutely in love with. It's just a fantastic group so it's just super intuitive. I've
got the Zip 303 NSWs. They've taken a bit of getting used to, especially today in the
wet. This is the first time I've taken them for a ride in the wet and the braking takes
a bit of getting used to but it's more about the frame that I want to talk about. After
several years on compact bicycles, this is the first time that I've been on a bike that's
more traditional but got fantastic aero features like this. The cam tail of the seat stay and
the seat post and the down tube. The down tube is really solid but light as and it's a really
stable head tube. I'm probably going to drop a few of those spaces out of there. I think
I've got it set a little bit higher at the moment for myself. The fork is fantastic.
As you can see I've got 25mm constantentals on at the moment but there's enough space
in there that you could probably easily put in a 28 or a 30 if that's your desire. I'm
quite happy with the 25s. I've just found after a week of riding, a week of riding, it's
just so stable and when you put the power down it just goes forward and when you're
pretty much above 20kph it absolutely flies. There's no twitchiness to it. It just feels
grounded but fast. So I'm absolutely wrapped with this bicycle. Can't wait to put in some
longer miles. The longest I've done is about 65kph but that'll start ramping up now even
with the winter coming. So I'm a really happy bunny. Thanks Mike Pride for allowing me along
with a few other guys to be a test pilot. I'm really loving being involved with this
brand and I can't wait to be riding this for many many many miles.
