Three, two, one.
Dad, teach me how to use your camera.
Hi everybody, welcome to PhotoTipSci.
Of course, I'm your lovable, adorable.
Ah, you know the rest.
Listen, if you're noticing things are a bit different, it's because they are.
And why are they different?
Well, number one, I just needed a change.
I was getting rather bored.
And number two, I was tired of cleaning off my desk every week for the podcast.
I'd rather just leave it where it lies.
That's my philosophy anyway.
Okay, so anyway, this is a new studio setup.
We've got different lights and a different arrangement.
It's a cleaner approach.
And hopefully I think it will make for better podcasting.
I don't know.
We will see.
I kind of like the simplistic minimalist feel minimalist.
It's a word I looked up online today.
And as you can see, I got this big open area over here to the left so that I can put text and anything that I want to.
I can put up an image up there on the left-hand side with a kind of picture-in-picture effect to disseminate.
Take that off of there.
Take it off right now or I'm going to take away your allowance, your choice.
That's better.
You can't get good health these days, especially when they're free and they're your children.
Anyway, take it off now.
What was that?
I swear to God, if there's anything on there at the end of production, you're losing your allowance.
I'm telling you right.
Bedtime will be 6.30 for you.
Okay, so what are we going to talk about on the show today?
Well, we're going to announce a new wedding walk for the first part of July.
I know what you're thinking.
Aren't you doing a summer seminar July the 23rd?
Yes, I am.
And if you have a choice of attending either the summer seminar or the wedding walk,
I would suggest that you attend the summer seminar.
And not because it cost you $100 to come.
No, because we're going to disseminate a lot of information.
I think you're going to get a whole bunch of learning.
It will be an actual hands-on classroom type environment.
And we're going to spend all day devoted to one topic and subject.
And when you leave there, you're going to understand everything that you need to know about light
and how to manipulate it and the things that you're going to do on a budget
and the things that you can look forward to building a future for when it comes to studio lights and such.
But if you live here local or you're within driving distance a few hours,
say you live in Dallas down south for me, which is about a three and a half hour drive,
you might want to consider coming to this wedding walk.
It's going to be July the 1st. That's a Friday.
That's also a key reason why you probably want to make sure you live in the area in order to attend
because Friday for most people are work days.
So that means that you're going to have to drive up early Friday morning
so that you can attend the wedding Friday evening.
All the information is going to be at the website.
Now, if you live local or within driving distance,
it might be a good opportunity for you to do a wedding walk
because this is going to be a really nice one.
The bride is a very pretty bride.
She's getting married in a warehouse and she's going to be married right in the middle of the warehouse
and everybody's going to kind of be around her in a circle.
It's going to be really unique.
In fact, we just shot a bridal this week and so I thought on the podcast
I would take you for a behind the scenes look at the bridal shoot.
You get a chance to meet the bride and see some of those bridal shots
and I was pretty busy this week so a behind the scenes type of shot
or type of podcast seems to be pretty favorable to you guys.
So we're going to take you behind the scenes and we'll do that bridal shoot in just a minute.
One other thing that I wanted to mention, I haven't mentioned this in a while,
but if you could, if you're watching this on iTunes or an iDevice of any type,
please log on to iTunes and rate the podcast.
Please. It really helps me out.
Okay, so that's all I got for introductions.
Go to the website for all the information on the wedding walk.
Again, that'll be July the 1st.
Don't forget the summer seminar. That's July the 23rd.
It's going to be all about light.
I'm really looking forward to that.
We got a ton of stuff that we're going to give you guys.
And like I said, it will be hands on so you will get your hands dirty,
which is a good thing because that's the best way to learn.
And I think that includes everything.
Oh, and at the end of this, I got a really funny video to show you.
Somebody made fun of me and I thought I would show it at the end
and we'd all get a good laugh out of it.
It really was rather humbling.
Anyway, on to the behind the scenes photo shoot.
Okay, so I'm here with Brittany Holmes.
Soon to be Brittany Brassville.
She's getting married at the 1st of July, the 1st, actually.
And some of you guys are going to get to come on the wedding.
Meanwhile, we're going to actually take and shoot a bridal shot.
I thought it would take you behind the scenes.
And I have no idea what I'm going to do yet.
We're just going to kind of wing it and hope something good comes out.
So, stay tuned.

Alright, so now I wanna take a look at the
All right, so now what I want to show you is a funny video that somebody sent in.
You know, we ran a contest that nobody participated in, it was make fun of Jimmy, okay, make your
own intro to the podcast and make fun of me however you want to do it, mimic me, whatever,
make fun of my bald head, and we were going to take the best videos and give out a prize.
Well, nobody participated.
So finally I pulled the plug on the whole thing and I was kind of honestly a little
bit let down, and I assumed it was because nobody just wanted to make fun of me because
they have so much respect for me, right?
That's what I tell myself.
So I announced that last week, and lo and behold, I get a video in.
So I'm going to go ahead and air it because it's funny, but it doesn't count for a prize
and it's the only one that was entered and it was entered after the deadline, so he doesn't
want a prize.
However, I'm going to go ahead and play it because it's kind of funny.
I just have one word to this fellow, don't quit your day job.
Welcome to DC Phototip's podcast on your adorable, lovable, sensible, mouth of the south, phantom
of Photoshop, grand poobah of podcasts, the legend of Lightroom, your host, Jimmy Belz.
Jimmy, are you down there recording that little TV show of yours again?
Yeah, baby.
As long as I hear that little voice inside my head, I have to.
It's like that movie, Field of Dreams.
If you build it, they will come.
It's just something I have to do.
So Honey Bunch, if you better start hearing my voice and clean the garage out like I told
you last week, or you're going to see real stars, Mr. Hollywood.
Okay, honey.
Anyhow, I have a whole bunch of stuff to get to today, so I had to cut the opening short
just to save some time on the video.
My good buddy from Pennsylvania, Shannon Allison, who you all met in episode 90-91, happens
to also be my partner in my pro-photo site, which sells great makeovers for your Smug
Mug page.
Sort of like one of them fancy-decorating fellas from New York City, only Shannon ain't
no fancy dude.
In fact, he's just a regular guy, except for those two girls' names he has.
I digress.
Let me bring it back home.
My ADD is kicking in again.
It's saying, Jimmy, bring it back on track.
Anyhow, Shannon came with me on that three-day wedding walk, which by the end really felt
more like a wedding crawl.
Anyhow, Shannon was supposed to be my podcast guest today, but I got a text from him saying
that he's feeding off a hunger at that McDonald's back in Ohio.
Now, I hear that dollar meal really offers a good deal.
Anyhow, his wife hadn't heard from him since, so if anyone out there off of exit 12A on
I-80, please stop by and see if Shannon's all right.
Send him back home, and I'm sure his wife will thank you, and I will too, I know.
In fact, to show our appreciation, I'll let you pick something off my PhotoTipsBiz website
for your help.
Pick yourself a Photoshop preset, Lightroom preset, or one of my photography classes.
You'll really enjoy it.
Okay, moving on.
I was going to show you my camera gear bag.
I literally have thousands of dollars worth of hot tech gear to show you, but it seems
my son mistaken his school backpack again, so unless you want to see a peanut butter
and jelly sandwich in a moon pie, then you'll have to wait for a future podcast when I get
my gear bag back for my son.
All right, let's see.
I think we have some email.
Let me check.
Oh, email.
Your folks sent me a lot of questions this week, but if you go back to the podcast that
I painstakingly recorded and uploaded to iTunes and PhotoTipsBiz, then you'll find the answers
to all these questions, and even questions that you didn't ask are answered.
So just go take a look at that and save my eyes for reading on my computer screen.
Anyhow, but now if you want to email me about a nice barbecue spot that you want to take
me to lunch, then by all means send me that email because you know old Jimmy loves to eat
on your treat.
Well, I'm looking at the clock and I got to wrap it up.
So until next week's podcast keeps shooting, peace out.
Okay, the bald head was kind of funny.
The whole voice in the head was pretty hilarious too, and the makeshift studio and the fake
southern accent was all kind of original as well.
I so appreciate that.
I really do.
I really do.
Anyway, that's all we have for this week.
See you next week.
Peace out, bye.
