The reason why people are coming to work is for a collaborative experience, coming in
for a social experience.
They could do their work at home if they chose to.
Customers are coming to us to try to come up with an inspirational environment so that
they can not only attract new people, but also retain who they have.
Empire Office was founded about 67 years ago by my grandfather, started with a $5,000
loan, and the rest shall we say is history.
Empire Office is the largest furniture dealer in the country.
Because we're the biggest, we see the most activity in the market and we can pick up
on trends.
We really want to listen to the customer's needs.
Why are they moving or why are they planning a different space?
We want to understand what their driving needs are.
Small firms, accounting firms, higher education, you name it, we do it.
We have years of experience in all of these markets, so it allows us to address the client
need and give them a comfort factor that we're proficient in their field.
We're able to help our clients understand that their employees can be more efficient
in a more flexible environment.
Typically what happens is we'll work with an architectural firm, a design firm, they
will come to us with a concept, where a designer is not going to know every piece, a cantilever,
a work surface, a pedestal, all of that is intricate into making it all come together
and putting it together.
We always leave somebody on site for a few days after there's a move-in.
Their purpose there is to walk around the space and make sure that everything is understood
of how it works.
The strength of Empire's design and specification team enables us to achieve the most beautiful
design at a very effective cost.
They know more about furniture than any client would ever assume is needed to buy a piece
of furniture.
We have people that have been here for 10, 20, 30, even 40 years and we're very proud
of that.
The company is a very big team approach at Empire.
There's a lot of longevity here and we mentor one another and then the next generation is
able to take over.
We strive to deliver as perfect as possible and no, it's not easy, we have never let a
client down.
And I think that that's a big factor of the delivering perfect.
We have the relationship of trust because without that we're not going to succeed.
We're at the forefront of understanding design, understanding their needs and understand
the process of how to make it a happy transition into a new space.
We don't live in a perfect world, there are things that can go wrong in any given project
but at the end of the day what we're delivering is a perfect solution to our customer.
Every client has a unique business, that's their expertise.
More expertise is furniture.
