What David and Brad and these guys have built here is something that's really
special and when Ritter and these guys came in to meet with us at Facebook I
sort of said to them you know I'm particularly excited I'm from Boulder
but it's the energy and like the kinds of ideas that are coming out of Boulder
and the Denver scene now are on par with Silicon Valley and that to me is
incredibly exciting you know it's kind of nice to think to my you know myself
like oh wow like I could go back there
The Boulder tech community has been incredibly supportive as have the
mentors the mentors have been coming in from all around the country and they've
all offered lots of insights and advice
I got an email that we had just closed a deal it's a large company in Europe to
do some retail tracking for them and it's our by far our biggest deal to date
as I was mentioning quickly we have a strange request right now we're
actually being filmed for a documentary this summer right and and the
filmmaker is actually here right now and and she wanted to film this call
Retail is an interesting place because they've actually got customers already
knocking their doors down for the product so you'll be a movie star now
Did I hear a rumor or read a rumor that you closed a nice big piece of
confidential business congratulations I just like creativity in any form and if
you think about it a startup is the best way to weave creativity into everything
you do in a business. So obviously Facebook's a huge platform for us and
that's a lot of what we want to ask you about Dave Moran from Facebook came and
he's a senior platform manager at Facebook and he had some great insight
about how we can make our product more social and the integration points. Part
of the cool part about doing Facebook platform has been that we've kind of
gotten to fly around the world and it's been sort of humbling seeing like the
community grow and turn into something that's in every country everywhere right
now we have over 650,000 developers and basically 180 countries that have built
something on Facebook platform. Boulder is like the community is still feels small enough that they feel like they can get a lot
out of it. TechStars threw a community party to really get the awesome people of
Boulder out and about and you know it was great to see everybody there and
just really shows how much Boulder in Colorado really value startups.
We're going to the TechStars community party. I'm pretty excited about it.
We're going to rock out.
I was in TechStars year one you know as soon as we knew that the community was
kind of there for us it really helped out and it really made us feel at home.
We actually decided to keep our company in Boulder even though we're originally from Michigan and then New York.
The reason we decided to stay is really this community.
Without further ado, my favorite band is the Autumn Film.
Our team is the youngest team in TechStars this year. Three of us are 22 years old.
One of us is 20. Two of us are about to graduate this year and graduation is actually in a few weeks.
So we've been finishing our coursework remotely and we'll fly back to Chicago for graduation.
It's a great time for us to be starting a company because the risk reward makes a lot of sense for us.
We don't have families or mortgages or many responsibilities and we have a lot of ideas and the ability to execute on them.
Amongst three of us we spend so much time together.
So for Scott at least to have his wife come and stay for a few days was great.
I think, you know, he's always said that they're best friends and, you know, which is what he says.
Yeah, no, it's true.
And this is where I sleep. Pretty, isn't it?
Hi, it's alright.
And that's pretty much where I live.
Alright, so you're living a dream here.
Yep, living a dream.
A lot of parents live.
I think with the exception of them having to sleep on this grungy twin mattress.
Which I think everyone has seen.
Which people have seen, I think the rest of it was pleasant.
