Choosing the right path has a lot to do with kind of having faith in the universe a little
bit and just letting like, you know, I don't know who I'm going to meet or who I'm going
to run into or what opportunity is going to open up for me.
And that's, you know, a wonderful thing about being in New York is that there's always potential.
Somebody can walk by your booth that's like, can buy your whole line or who can put you
in a gallery.
Yeah, I always had an interest in it, but I just didn't think I had a talent for it,
and so I never pursued it.
And the concept for the paintings actually came before the actual characters, so I started
finding paintings and then what was in the landscapes really pushed me to be creative
with like coming up with new characters.
You know, it's so hard to gauge your own work and judge your own work, so I made some paintings
and I thought they were pretty cool.
The time my brother is a jeweler and he does markets similar to this, like outdoor street
markets.
And so he was doing a music festival and he was like, why don't you just like put some
of your stuff out and I put my paintings out and like, I sold out in like one day and I
was like, whoa, like, I'm shocked, I couldn't believe that people were like giving me money
for like, I was drawing like unicorns.
I grew up in a family that did art markets and things and I think it's a great way to
interact directly with the clientele and so I really get feedback on my work and I'm
able to, you know, really get guided by the people who are buying my work.
Artist and Pleas has been a really wonderful outlet for me in Brooklyn.
It's great, you have a lot of tourists from like all over the world, so it's always a
different market, always different eyes on your stuff.
Gosh, the Roids play.
I guess just that I think it feels really good to be a model of a small business that
can work and I, you know, I think it's important for young people to realize that they can
be entrepreneurial and like make a living for themselves doing what they love.
I think that's something that our generation has like, kind of given up on, so, you know,
I'm really lucky.
I love it.
Go look at the Roids, please.
