This is a portrait I did of Tony Alfa from the 1970s and used to have long hair and wear
the silver glasses. Where we headed Mark? To drop some photos off at a photography gallery
where I'm going to have an art show and then after that I'm going to call and maybe find
out directions to go to a skate park. I don't go to the skate park very often but we'll go there today.
I'm Janet Borden and this is my gallery and we're big fans of Mark Gonzalez and he showed me
his photographs that he had been making with the sidekick and they're so terrific and they have
a certain vitality that goes along with his skateboarding interest and his approach to the
world. How did you first hear about it? I met him on the street and he liked my dog.
Hey, I'm calling for Andy Kessler. Yeah, this is Mike Kepa. Hey, what are you doing? We wanted
to go to the Owlshead skate park. How do we get there? Go over to the Brooklyn bridge,
get on the BQE, going west. Name the trick you want and I'll do it. Name the trick you do and
I'll steal it. Andy Kessler. He's the authority on New York skateboarding.
You guys are skating the rooftop now? What kind of obstacles do you got? Oh man,
I don't know if I want to go up on the roof. Head to the lower east side, Sir Billy Rohan.
He says we can come up and skate this spot he's got. It's on top of the roof and I told him,
you know, I wasn't really into going on top of a roof. You know, they got satellites these days,
beam down and zoom in on you and have a footage of you.
Yeah, that's my mom. She's a big and graffiti scene in New York. She's always getting famous.
I got a splinter. It's so small. It's ridiculous. I think it's a wrap, guys.
