G'day, I'm Ray Collins and today we're going to give you a bit of a behind the scenes look
at taking photos in some pretty heavy surf.
We're often asked what we use when we take our photos for the magazines and today I'm
going to give you a quick rundown on a basic water surf.
So today we're going to be using a 7D with a 50mm lens for the 7D body.
We've got the 7D Aquatec housing which has got some pretty good features on it and we
can operate basically all our buttons just like having a camera.
So we can use every function, we can change the video and we can shoot.
We've got the quick release clips here so you can just pop the back plate straight off
and we put a base plate on there which slides straight in here.
So in effect it locks the camera in so there's no movement at all.
So here we have our back plate and our camera here.
Just make sure that the O-ring is fastened in and secure and there's no sand or hair
or anything because you wouldn't want the seal to breach in water to get inside your camera.
And set the clips in place like so.
Just check everything's level.
Pop them down and we're ready to go.
So basically I've got a big viewing screen here which is good for video and stills.
If I want to make any changes in the settings like ISO, aperture, shutter speed, it's all here.
Just pop it in and change your aperture pretty easily.
Change your shutter speed pretty easily.
And you've got every single function that you could have without the housing basically.
You can access it all on one menu.
I've got your things and what the fuck is this?
Letting you know I can't care about business.
Can I get away with this?
To verify where I depict this?
Stop the mixture ecstatic.
Tragic but I've got to pull out the magic.
Mooda when I grow with my crew.
I've met you one time.
Can't find my Mooda.
There'll be hicko with the belt unbuckled.
Can't grow enough but he ain't that subtle.
Pull to the curb so we can stick a few words.
But he got me stirred up enough to grab the hiccup.
I'll hop and pop and blow your head off.
We ain't going up like that.
So that pretty much wraps up our shoot.
I hope that explains how we get the images that we get for magazines like The Boogie.
And if you need a housing I suggest you look for Aquatech.net
because that's what all us guys use.
Yeah they're pretty much the best in the biz.
Thanks for watching.
