Today I'm going to tie a simple scut pattern.
You need 10 thread and 10 SLF salt water dubbing.
You can of course use any other color you like, personally I like the tan the best because
it's worked best for me.
I'm using a Benetxi 12.0 thread, it's really thin yet it's so flat you can easily split
it.
So I'm going to turn the hook around which makes it much easier for me to split the thread.
I'm going to take some wax, this is by the way ski wax from Swix, the blue one, works
really great, then just take some dubbing and just touch the thread with it.
And then I spin.
Just wind it around the shank making sure it's just a bit thicker in the middle than
the rest.
Tool quick with finishes.
That's it, now I'm just going to trim the longest fibers because they're just a little
bit too long.
Take my brush and just brush them down and again the ones that are too long just trim
them.
If you want you can put lead on this fly, I prefer them unweighted, I think they look
much more natural that way when you're fishing them, and that's about it, simple and easy.
