Hello, my name is Grayson Collins, I'm the owner of Strawberry Street Cafe with my partner
Ron Joseph.
We have been in business for 33 years, we're located in the Fan District of Richmond.
Both Ron and myself work for the original owner of Strawberry Street, Colin Eagles, for
a number of years. Later in 1994, Ron and I purchased the Strawberry Street Cafe from
Colin Eagles. We have something going on here just about every day of the week in which
we are constantly trying to provide our customers our opportunity for value and their experience
here at Strawberry Street. For years, one of the most popular events has been our Monday
night madness, discounted burgers and quiche night in which customers can come in and receive
a fairly hefty discount on the regular price as well as a variety of beverage specials
that are available too. On Tuesday nights, we do what we call our college student discount
night, which for students and faculty of colleges, they receive a 20% discount off of their guest
check. And we are now accepting Ram Bucks, which is a way for the VCU students to have
a special way of purchasing items through their college. On Wednesday night, we are
currently doing a promotion that we call our couples night. Customers can come in and
pick an appetizer to share and two entrees off the menu for $26.95. The hardest thing
for us to do when it comes time to consider making menu changes is decide on what we really
can take off the menu because our menu consists of so many items that have been part of Strawberry
Street Cafe's menu for many, many years and are very popular with our regular clientele.
Every day we are complimented on our menu like our vegetarian spinach lasagna, our Maryland
Royal crab cakes, which my partner brought to Strawberry Street when he came to work
for us as a chef. And of course, we can't forget our bathtub salad bar, which is what
Strawberry Street Cafe has known the most for. Giving back to the community is an important
aspect of what we do here at Strawberry Street Cafe. We have for years been benefactors and
supporters of a number of charities and organizations and helping raising funds. We refer to ourselves
as a fan tradition because we are a landmark in the fan. When someone speaks of Strawberry
Street Cafe, they know us because of the number of years we've been in business here. Also,
we have the benefit of a regular clientele of customers that return to us often to celebrate
birthdays, anniversaries, marriage proposals. There's a lot of history behind Strawberry
Street Cafe and its customers that have been here and they return to remember those occasions
year after year.
