Hey folks, Pete here, creator of BikePirate.com, super stoked to be here with you today in
my adopted hometown of Canmore, to show you one of my favorite local downhills, Reclaimer.
Hell yeah.
Located off the Smithdorian Road, highway 742 just north of town, this trail loads of
fun to ride.
Natural features, berm corners and lots of rock and root make this trail a blast to
ride.
Gotta love the start of the Reclaimer.
Works with a couple of berm corners, super steep and rocky, definitely hanging on.
Followed by those switchbacks is a little tight section through the trees.
Again, as you can see, the terrain is quite rocky.
Gotta love it though.
Here's a little section where you can actually split off in two ways.
The trail does meet back up.
Some people prefer the new way hitting the right section, I just hit it down the middle.
Once again in this section kind of opens up, you get a couple of rock drops to take, nothing
big, just keeps it interesting.
This is where you get a little bit slower again because you've got a little bit of an uphill
free ride to do.
You've got a pedal pedal, puts a little burn in the legs, it's a short section, it doesn't
take too long, a couple seconds, you definitely feel it in the legs after you've just been
hitting it downhill.
Some more wicked switchbacks and berm corners, lots of that on this trail.
It's only a one and a half K trail, not even, but it definitely keeps you on your toes.
Near the bottom things get a little bit usherier, you can start to open her up, you can see
the trail gets a lot smoother, and then the final section here is nice and fast and flowy
all the way to the grassy lakes parking lot, sweet which has come out here and up for another
ride.
Bike Pirate rates this trail five out of five skulls, I must do over and over again.
