Well, Barry and I had, we just got into this, you know, middle of the night conversation
about something as people do, and it was just sort of feeding on each other and this enthusiasm
for the product and the opening we saw in the market, like no one was doing it, and I'm
a tequila lover.
It's like, why isn't anyone doing it?
I want, I didn't even know you could make it to give all that smooth.
Here we are right at the center of the clubhouse of the Dragones of San Miguel, this is where
they actually got together to mastermind this very special movement that changed the history
of Mexico forever.
I wanted to have a brand with roots in Mexico, something that truly was based in Mexican authenticity.
One of the core founding ideas of our product was to deliver a product that was done truly
in a handcrafted way.
Finally, I got to the Museo de Arte Popular, there had an exhibit of the history of glass
in Mexico, and I saw a piece done by Jose Cruz Guillén, immediately as I saw that piece,
I fell in love with a Pepita engraving.
I recently had the recognition of becoming a maestra tequila, the first woman to receive
this recognition.
One of the things that identifies us as tequila is that Casa Dragones is a joven style of tequila,
which is a forgotten style in 100% agave.
For some reason, joven was a style very much explored in mixto tequilas.
In our particular case is the result of blending white tequila with a hint of extra aged tequila.
We wanted to get the purest notes of the agave into Casa Dragones.
For us, within our production process, we choose one agave at a time.
The agave takes 8 to 12 years to harvest.
We're not looking for the efficiencies that many of the rest of the players in the industry
are looking for.
We're looking for each plant at a time.
We believe in doing all the work in the production process, so then our consumers, just the only
thing that they need to do is pour the product in the right glass and enjoy it.
