This is another ADM video blog. August the 6th, 2017.
I said the Blue Jays won again last night, 4-3 against the Houston Astros.
For those who don't know, the Houston Astros are the best team in the American League,
and they're also the second best team in baseball, as per record,
and the most offensively potent team in all of baseball.
Scoring the most runs, pinning the most home runs,
and I think if I'm not mistaken, they have the most hits.
In six games, in 2017, the Blue Jays have drawn even with the Houston Astros 3-3.
Three wins, three losses.
I'm really proud of this squad.
This year, it's been such a struggle. The Jays have faced injuries, starting pitching woes,
offensive slumps, poor hitting with runners and scoring position.
It's incredible. This team, it's so tenacious.
I'm really proud of them. I'm even more proud of them than I was, of course, in 2015,
which was an incredibly explosive year for the Blue Jays, a comeback year,
and 2016, which was also, okay, you did it in 2015.
Let's see if you guys can do it in 2016.
But this year, they've battled back from adversity.
They're sticking in it. They're hanging in there.
They've got really no reason to be in the hunt as they are, but they're sticking in there.
Major props to players like Ryan Goans, who's going to be basically the short stuff
for the Blue Jays for the rest of the year, with the injury to Troy Tulaewitzki,
which happened about a week and a half back when Tulo was running down the first baseline
and twisted his ankle or fractured his ankle pretty badly, stepping on C.J. Cron's foot from the Angels.
But it says a lot about a team and their ability to never say die.
The Jays have not been at 500 all year long.
Their present record stands at 52 wins and 58 losses.
They're five games out of a second wildcard spot.
They're nine and a half games out of first place.
They're still in the thick of things.
Again, like I said the other day, you can really tell who the Stalwart fans are,
who the fans that, who the real fans are.
Let's put it that way, not the fickle fans.
It's all fine and dandy. I mean, all kudos to the Houston Astros.
They've had their ass handed to them year after year for the last five, six years.
It's all fine and well for their fans to be so happy when their team is clobbering and beating the crap out of the Jays.
For example, they beat the crap out of us on Friday night, 16-7.
And in two games in which we lost 19-1 and 16-7, which is a total of 35 runs against the eight for the Jays.
Yeah, we've gotten our asses handed to us, but we're staying in it.
That's the key.
One thing to be able to clap your team on when they're totally trouncing other teams,
it's another to be a fan of a team that's struggling to get to 500 and staying in the game.
Power to the Jays, they're finding a way to win, they're finding a way to stay in there.
They've got to do better hitting with runners in the scoring position.
Of course, pitching's got to be better, but a lot of their starters are coming back.
Haps coming back.
Estrada's been coming back.
Today we have Marcus Strowman on the mound.
If I'm not mistaken, it's the final matchup of the Jays in Houston for the rest of the year.
So let's see who can take it.
You might have another three games.
I could be wrong on that.
But anyway, I've got to check the schedule.
Power to the Jays.
And of course, I'll be there, 210 starting time Eastern, 110 Central.
Thanks again for watching.
