The amphibians constitute the group of vertebrates the most threatened in the world.
Due to the change, they suffer from the destruction of their natural habitat.
The disappearance of nearly 50% of the wet areas,
the fact of drainage, pollution, urbanization and climate change
remains a constant threat for the crabs, grannies,
rhinos and tits but also for a great diversity of wild animals.
Here, we are located on the plateau of Vittrol, which is part of the harbour.
On the contraforks of the Eten de Berre, near Marseille.
It is a vegetation typically Mediterranean from Garig to Chaine Carmes,
so massifs where water is rare on the surface.
In the Mediterranean environment, we have a specificity,
which is the temporality of the water points,
since we have very hot and very dry seasons,
so an evaporation of the sea, whether it is natural or artificial.
So, amphibian cortages that will be adapted to this temporality
are used to reproduce at the beginning of spring,
to see the autumn, once the rains and venals fill these holes.
So amphibians, with a period of reproduction,
which will be quite short, a development of wolf and tetanus,
very fast to be able to adapt to these very temporary environments
where water remains in the sea or in the lava for a long time.
So, a lava is a traditional work,
which is to collect rainwater,
made in order to cover the battle.
So, these are the farmers of the time
who built these waters to go,
to avoid the fall of the battle in the sea.
So, they were built with the stones they found on the site itself.
Considering that the preservation of many species
requires the reconstruction of the habitat,
the Opaqa LP intervenes on the plateau of the Arbois,
by creating lava to favor the return of amphibian patrimonial,
such as the Pélodite, Pontuée, the Krapokalamite.
The Opaqa LP has also improved the reception of a greater diversity of wild animals
that have just been reproduced,
bred and hunted.
These points of water will also be a tool for traditional breeding activities,
allowing the battle to be bred.
So, this project was made possible thanks to the mobilization
of many actors who support the Opaqa LP
through the creation of this operation,
namely the Vittrol commune, the UNF,
the conservatory of the Littoral,
Natura 2000, the pastoral activities,
and of course the donation fund, Littentia,
which finances this operation.
Thank you.
