Welcome to Cooking with ICANN Black Magic Special, my name is George and I will be your
chef today.
Today we're talking about this camera, the black magic, and how it can be mounted on
rigs and accessorized.
So let's get started.
First we're going to talk about the black magic base plate.
Now what makes it special is that it's designed specifically to fit the black magic.
It has cuts in it for the airflow right there and it's made to fit just perfectly and I'll
show you that right here.
See that right there where the vent hole is, they match up perfectly.
So now you don't have to worry about overheating when you're out there shooting.
And another thing that comes with it that I think is really cool is the registration
pin and it holds the camera steady and you don't have to worry about it slipping when
you're like holding it in your hands or if you're shooting and you punch a button it's
not going to pop on you.
It comes with a tripod plate similar to the Superfly and other base plates that Iken has
and it also has the nine inch rods for accessorizing so you can put a mat box, a follow focus,
and power solutions if you have them.
And that is the black magic base plate.
So let's spice things up a little bit alright.
I'm going to show you guys the black fly.
The black fly is a hand held rig that has all the same features as the base plate except
this one has rubberized hand grips so you won't slip around, it has nice and sturdy
feel to it and also it has plenty of mounting points right here.
You can mount your light, your monitor, or your audio recording device.
Also has 12 inch rods so you can mount other accessories to it.
That is the black fly and what I'm going to show you guys next is the top handle.
And the top handle right here probably the easiest rig that we have for the black magic
what makes it really cool is that it comes with the rosette system that enables it to
turn 360 degrees.
There you go and then tighten it and you pick it up and go.
Very easy to use and another really cool feature that is very easy to install has these two
D-rings there and you just simply unscrew it to uninstall it and that's it.
That is the top handle.
What I'm going to show you next is a mixture of the black fly and the top handle.
It's a hybrid of both and it's called the tri-fly.
Tri-fly is a hand held system that has rubberized grips like the black fly also has quarter
twenty holes there and there and also on the bottom and it also has a top handle that rotates
360 degrees and twelve inch rods and that's the tri-fly.
Hand held rigs may not suit your taste and you may need a little bit more support.
What we have for you is the Cinefly.
Cinefly is a shoulder system that is padded for comfort.
Also has the black magic base plate but it can be equipped with a DSLR or a camcorder
base plate.
Has a rosette system for many points of articulation and I'll show you right there.
It can also be turned here and lastly it can also be turned here.
Another thing that the Cinefly comes with is a weight bag in the back and the weight
bag is for counter balance in case you have too much weight in the front.
The weight bag can come off and the double cheese plate in the back can be equipped
with a pro battery so you don't have to run off the camera battery and that is the Cinefly.
That's a little food for thought everybody.
Thanks for watching.
Catch you next time.
