I got to fifth station around 12 o'clock and I was ready to go.
There were a few groups getting ready but I was going solo.
Well, I look at it myself as the beginning really of an exploration, that's the reason
we're exploring.
You don't know what you'll run into on an exploration, what the sky looks like, what
the stars look like, but they still twinkle or are they a steady light when you get outside
the atmosphere?
I started hiking around two o'clock and the beginning of the climb was nice.
I walked through a little forest and kept climbing and climbing and climbing and climbing
and climbing.
Only six more hours to go.
The views weren't so nice on the way up as the weather was pretty bad.
It was really windy and rainy and I was wet but you just had to keep walking.
I got to eighth station where my lodge was around the sunset and it was really nice to
warm up and rest for a few hours and change before continuing on.
Because in all things, you must make your own way through life.
Well, I look at it myself as the beginning really of an exploration.
The view from the top was unbelievably beautiful and the whole scene was surreal.
Stars.
Stars.
Well, I look at it.
Stars.
Well, I look at it.
Stars.
What does the sky look like?
What does the stars look like?
I let the big groups go down before me as I wanted to take it easy.
Going down definitely wasn't as fun as going up.
You're hungry.
You're tired.
The weather keeps changing on you.
All you can think about is taking off your boots and chilling.
Near the bottom, there was a sky-renting horse and this lady rented one for ten thousand
yen.
Although that would have been nice, I felt it was a little bit like cheating.
I wanted to finish strong and just think about the sky and the fact that I had just
hiked down Fuji.
