I
My name is Hector St. John and I race motorcycles.
I ride the Honda RS125R race bike, sponsored by National Guard, motorcycle closeouts, signed
by tomorrow.
I also teach racing and teach novice riding schoolers out in Hartland Park, Topeka.
I'll be here today, a beautiful day in October, having fun with some of my friends.
In 2008, I believe I won 22 races and I also won Daytona Race of Champions, which was the
national championship.
It's a great thrill for me as Daytona is one of those tracks that all you have to do is
say Daytona and people will know it's something special.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
The RS125, we geared it for about 143 at Daytona.
So that's the fastest, I believe that bike is gone.
I've been racing around 12 years and was doing a lot of clubs races, which is regional
stuff for the first two or three years, starting a national series like USGPRU, AMA, a few rounds
of the AMA, and especially when they did the SPAC 125 classes with AMA at Barbara in Utah,
I went to those races.
How long do you think you've been behind the hammer bars in the bike all together, street
and on the track?
Is it about the same amount of time?
Yeah, it's about 12, 13 years.
So mostly on the track.
I don't have near as many miles on the street as I do on the track.
For the street rider who wants to get into racing, the best thing for them to do is come
to a track day or do a track school.
Nearly every track in the country, every road racing.
Of course, in the country now has motorcycle track days.
For a minimal cost, you can go out and ride a racetrack all day long.
Thank you.
