from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Norman.
This is a severe weather update.
We recorded this briefing in around 11 a.m.
I'm Rick Smith, meteorologist here at the Weather Service.
The red shaded area, again,
that's the danger zone for tornadoes
and significant high impact weather today.
We are expecting conditions today to be just as volatile,
if not even more so than they were yesterday for tornadoes.
Now we're not trying to freak people out or scare you.
We want you to be prepared.
So again, this is a very serious situation
we're dealing with today.
Just as serious as yesterday,
we want you to be,
our motto so far has been,
don't be scared, be prepared.
We want you to pay attention to you.
MUSIC
The wind spins like a devil, wraps around your home, tears you from the roots out,
throws you like a storm, well yeah, then I'll be the first time, and I'll be the last.
I'll stand in the ruins, I'll hit you other times, I'll touch it through the rubble,
the pieces of our lives will out, the spirit won't be broken, just take a look around, take a look around.
Come hell or come hot water, stand together in the rain, Oklahoma.
Where we don't forget our brother, and you won't forget the name, Oklahoma.
Every last survivor you see across this land, miracles can happen when you leave it in your sense.
Well, yeah, I know heroes, all the people doing what they can, oh what they can.
Come hell or come hot water, stand together in the rain, Oklahoma.
Where we don't forget our brother, and you won't forget the name, Oklahoma.
I've got to believe, I've got to believe, bombs exploding when the rain will never change our way.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
This place's like a devil, roots you like a stone, tears you from the wrong side, burn all this weed out.
Come hell or come hot water, stand together in the rain, Oklahoma.
Where we don't forget our brother, and you won't forget the name, Oklahoma.
Come hell or come hot water, stand together in the rain, Oklahoma.
Where we don't forget our brother, and you won't forget the name.
Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma.
Where the village is like a devil, roots you like a stone.
Come hell or come hot water, stand together in the rain, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma, Oklahoma.
