Lomography is a young, colourful and creative way to take analogue photographs.
It's all about having fun while making great photos.
Lomographers take their cameras everywhere they go to become a part of their lives.
It's your next best habit.
So it seemed like a natural progression for Barcelona to host a Lomography exhibition.
Barcelona is perfect for the Lomography style.
The bright colours, the sun, the architecture.
ISEN SLOMA was organised by Gigi and Luca, a branding agency based in Barcelona.
It was an event that brought online and offline together.
The contest was held online on nomography.es in May 2011,
and the exhibitions were selected winners at the four different locations in Barcelona in June.
I'm Philippa, I am one of the creators of the exhibition ISEN SLOMA.
ISEN SLOMA is an idea that we came up with as a team for a contest
and an exhibition in Barcelona that has the objective of introducing LOMA to Barcelona
and also make people go to the streets and know Barcelona better by taking pictures using their LOMO cameras.
We wanted to create an exhibition, well the contest first of course, which was on Lomography.es
and we wanted everyone to participate.
Then we wanted to choose ten people for each stand, so we had four contests.
We left the vision out because we were going to explore it in a different way,
so we had four contests which translated to four exhibitions.
The fifth sense, the vision, we left out because we thought that the vision should be explored by everyone,
by taking their walks in the city and by going to each gallery and getting to know Barcelona.
Just add some local artist galleries, international people, bars and studios,
an original theme called ISEN SLOMA and you have a recipe for great original photographs.
For the competition over 1,200 LOMOGRAPHY photos were submitted,
40 photos were selected and exhibited in the four locations.
Each location had a different sense and a different theme.
Hi, I'm Julián Suárez and I'm one of the creators of ISEN SLOMO in the sense of summer colors.
The photo I have on display is, I don't know how to say it in Spanish, it's called Ginesta
and I have that smell in my nose when it starts in summer
and that's what I like about summer colors.
I liked the logic.
For the simple fact that it was more about your life, the photography, the composition,
I don't know how to say it, you just do it and at the end you decide to do a 12-degree photo
and you're going to do 12-degree photos of what you're going to do.
Hi, my name is Tomas Lindard and I'm in charge of LOMOGRAPHY in Barcelona.
LOMOGRAPHY is about another experimental photography.
We try to take advantage of all the things that you can do with a film that you can't do in digital,
for example diorite sculptures or types of film and development and stuff like this
so you get different results than what you get normally.
We had the LOMOGRAPHY shop in Madrid since 2002
and then two years later in 2004 we put the shop here in Barcelona.
LOMOGRAPHY Spanish community grew up a lot during these last years.
The event was made possible by various local sponsors and collaborators
who were enthusiastic to be part of this event.
