There's no point sugarcoating it for me because everyone's scared
of having like a hissy fit again because really if people think it's a bad idea I
was supposed to just tell me and not be like that's a great idea it's not what
customers want right now it's just it's just horrible it just makes you feel like
your ideas just aren't even worth anything like they're trying to make up
ideas and then you're the one at the end of it who has to deal with the
humiliation at work
I just don't I don't I didn't want it to fail it already has and I just the
thought of going downstairs and standing in front of it and just watching it
sell three bags and you know six hours I'm just finding it so hard to not
bear since it is Friday morning and with spirits at rock bottom Becky receives
a call from Hong Kong where Sainsbury's own brand director Judith Batchelor is
visiting a supplier. When people are trying something new and cooking they're probably more likely to do that at the weekend than they are on a Monday or a Tuesday. The big volume of those are purchased to Friday Saturdays. These things always take patience but don't be downhearted as the weekend is coming and that's time to get out there and send it to them. So keep smiling.
I'll try, I'll try. Thank you so much Judith. Bye. Take care. You too. Bye. Bye.
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Sainsbury's here in Watford. It's a fantastic idea. Brilliant. Okay.
Yeah, it's just the kids won't eat it. Yeah, that's fine. If you want to make the cobbler on top and you'll make the cobbler because it's really fun. We'll just get hands day with the flour and milk and rub all together and make some scones and check it on top. Yeah, you're going to go for it? Fantastic. There you go. Thank you.
Two. Just watching her now and she's got a smile back. She seems to be back on her game again really. You can hear her from here so she's obviously getting more excited and also she's talking quicker which is always with Becky is always a sign that she's getting involved and excited.
Yeah, thank you very much. It's just gone six o'clock now so we're just checking how well we've done today. Have you been peeking? Nope, haven't got a clue. What's their best day so far? 22. 22. So how many do you reckon today then? Well I heard 27 a couple of hours ago.
I don't know. Well since you've been down here 38. 38. And still going so hopefully. So excellent on Friday. It's a one on Becky. Well pleased with Friday, yeah. Sunday night and the store trial is over.
Over 130 bags for the seven days trial which is absolutely superb for a new line and how many new lines do we sell that amount of normally on the first week? £4.10 per bag, selling 137 of them. That was by far the way the best selling ready meal we had out there last week.
Now Head Office will have to decide whether to back Becky's idea. If I say yes, that's it. This is the opportunity. This is the opportunity to make it something big.
Becky will have to convince six of the company's most senior directors that her idea should be rolled out nationwide.
