Add some ups and downs, some hardship, some illness as we expect, bike breakdowns, but all in all, yeah.
What a trip, a trip of a lifetime.
So we go through Malaysia into Thailand, the length of Thailand into Laos.
From Laos we're into China, Mengla, Mengla straight up as far north as we can go, and then turn west into Kazakhstan.
Tough, tough, Kazakhstan's tough. Long distances, a lot of desert scrub, then we're into Georgia.
Probably my favourite country so far, Georgia I love.
Turkey, Black Sea coast, very nice, change, it's a change.
Food, little bit difficult for me, this is the land of kebab, salad for me of course, so not much protein.
Little bit thinner when I exited, then into Bulgaria, Bulgaria I like.
Free water, runs everywhere.
Bicycle travel is sustainable, eco-friendly, move slowly, use nothing.
It's very agreeable, it's a great way to travel. Meet the people, you're in direct contact with everything, nature and people.
In a car you're isolated from everything and you're also screwing the planet.
Bicycle travel, I've done millions of kilometres perhaps and all I've had to fuel is my belly, which you do anyway.
It's just a way of keeping me out of mischief.
Once you get a taste for this travel, there's no other way, it's a way of life.
That's what it is, it's a way of life, it's a way of living.
You don't have to have a career or achieve anything, why do you need to?
Status, no, I don't need it, I don't need people looking at my motor car to think what I am.
They see me on the bike, they know what I am.
I'm somebody who doesn't care about possessions, not materialistic.
If you ride a bike, your outlook's different, you don't see things as material.
You're just passing through like we all are, we're just passing through.
Passing through life, passing through countries, passing through roads.
One day after the other, it becomes a way of life.
Once you've got that, once you realise that, your whole attitude must change.
Your life will be different, you won't live conventionally.
Because you see at the end of it, what is there?
There's nothing, there's nothing you can take with you.
You've just got your memory and the way you've lived your life.
Are you happy with what you did with your life or are you not?
Did you sell your time for money or did you do exactly what you wanted to do every day?
That's the question.
I can say, I'm reflection, I live my life the way I want me to live it.
I'm happy.
That's my philosophy.
Cheers guys!
Cheers mum!
All the best!
Say it!
All the best!
I thought he was kidding!
