Hey, ah, now this girl is so hot, how hot?
It's an emergency that I get her up out of the club.
React, present, react, present.
What up, Chicago?
It's your girl, Dreia O'Pon, with the GoWare Hip Hop.
And I'm standing here on New Year's Eve, 2011.
It's like, what, an hour away from, like, 40 minutes?
Less than an hour away from 2012.
And I'm lucky enough to get to bring in my 2012.
You got a pearl necklace on.
I know.
Who gave you that?
My mom.
It's real.
I didn't get it, actually.
New Year's Eve was supposed to have one.
Lively, I mean, we made it.
I know.
2012, we had to be happy for that.
It's crazy.
I'm lucky enough to bring in my 2012 with Lil John,
the king of krunk.
So you know I'm getting it crazy in Rosemount.
So how do you feel to be bringing in your 2012 in Chicago?
It's been a busy week for me.
I've been in Miami, Atlantic City, Vegas,
and tonight, Chicago, Chicago's.
I've been coming to the city for many, many years.
Always shows me a great time.
Every time I come, DJ here.
I think I've been in Chicago like three times this year, DJing.
And it was always crazy.
So it's good to be here.
And it's a lot of people out there,
and everybody's ready to have a good time.
So I'm going to bring the energy and make everybody get wasted.
I'm sorry.
You got to get drunk.
It's New Year's Eve.
So since you are the king of krunk,
what does Lil John get krunk off to?
Do you get krunk off your own music?
Man, I don't know.
I'm getting older.
I get krunk off.
I don't know.
It's whatever.
I just flip the switch when I want to get krunk,
and I can get krunk.
Definitely.
So is it still Lil John and the East Side Boys?
I know you hit the scene with the East Side Boys.
What's going on?
No, it's just Lil John.
It's been just Lil John for a while now.
So the East Side Boys want to do their own thing,
and they're doing that thing.
And I'm doing my thing.
I went in a different direction.
And basically, I make music now to make people party.
It's not just krunk.
It's just whatever kind of music it is,
I can get on and make people get crazy and party.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Did I say it right?
Yeah.
You sounded like you were wounded and shit.
Yeah.
Can you do it right for me?
Yeah.
See, that's what I'm talking about right there.
This is how I do it in 2012.
So how was it on Apprentice with all the people
that she was on there with?
Tell me a little bit about that.
Apprentice was a great show to be on.
It pushed me to my limits and showed me
what I was really made of.
And I'm actually very glad I did it.
And I raised a lot of money for some needy people
and brought awareness to the charity I was representing
as well.
So it was definitely great to do the show.
And yes, it was difficult to sometimes deal
with some of the characters because you're
in a business setting.
You're under a small time frame where
you have to come up with ideas and execute your ideas
and so on and so forth.
And different kinds of eccentric personalities
they messed that up.
Neenie?
No, Neenie's cool.
That's my home girl.
Me and Neenie got real cool on the show.
I try to give her a lot of advice on certain situations.
But yeah, I mean, it was a great show to be on.
And everybody on the show was great.
I mean, my boy John Ritz was.
People don't think a rapper in the country
star can be friends.
But me and him have been friends before this show.
And I'm happy that he won and brought almost $2 million
to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
So he was passionate.
I didn't get to the final two.
But he was the guy that won.
And he deserved to win because he was so passionate
for his charity.
And he was never weak on the show.
Definitely.
So what is your New Year's resolution?
What is Lil John's New Year's revolution?
Prisoner revolution is back.
My New Year's resolution is to stay in the gym a little bit
more, try to stay as healthy as possible.
A lot of people died last year from heart attacks and strokes
and us as Black folks, we need to take better care of ourselves.
So just stay healthy and exercise and keep partying.
One last question.
Dave Chappelle accurately portray you on his show.
I guess you could say he did because I have two sides.
I'm the wild crazy guy.
And then I'm the calm, articulate kind of dude.
So yes.
Thank you so much for your time.
It's Dre O'Pon with GoWare Hip Hop 2012.
I'm bringing it in with none other than the king of krunk,
Lil John.
We about to go party, right?
Yeah, let's do it.
Two guys and 12.
Let's go.
Yeah, you want Lil John getting the krunk on GoWare Hip Hop?
Yeah.
OK, 911.
I'm looking for a chick.
I'm going to find me some.
The time has come.
She get a gold medal.
I see you in your high heels.
Shoes and stilettos.
Tell me where you going, mommy.
Keep a bad chick.
That's right for Simon.
And I smoke tree soap.
